Publisher's summary

Now an Amazon number one best seller in super-naturalism.

Don't miss this story that's being talked about on college campuses everywhere!

Experience the terror of The Devil's Board in this new supernatural thriller from the Amazon number one best-selling author, L. Sydney Fisher.

Inspired by true events.

On an American college campus in 1987, three students began playing a seemingly innocent game of contacting the dead. Word spread fast around campus and curiosity grew, expanding the group to more than 40 people. Spirits were summoned almost daily, and the dark world's influence began to take its toll, as one student fell gravely ill and relationships began to crumble. Months later, the dead would be resurrected, and this time there would be hell to pay.

This is their story.

Note from Sydney: The Devil's Board is based on true events that happened in the Fall/Spring year of 1987-88. The college campus is located in small-town USA. To this day, the story of Ryan Banks still remains a haunting mystery. All names and locations have been changed to protect the privacy of the institution and the characters of the story. Some parts of The Devil's Board have been dramatized for the sake of storytelling.

This story makes me want to follow the included I traction’s on how to properly destroy it me make it disappear from her room while she is at school. Terrifying and credible in its horror. Be ready to hear an fictional account of a documented occurrence of terror. Chilling ins style of both writing and narration. Chilling

Great story, makes me want to read more into the Ouija Board. Also makes me want to relook at my childhood memories in which we played with the board. Wish it was longer but not because it was lacking. I will be looking into more of her work.

Oujia Lite

I enjoyed this story. Didn't think that it was all that scary but the build up was good. Thought the ending was a little lack luster and was over too quick but if this is a true story then that is probably what happened. Overall I feel that this is a safe book for someone in their teens and not for someone looking for a overly demonic and scary story.

The story is quick and one that you can and would most likely want to listen to in a full session. The warnings at the end are great so listen all the way through.

The narrator did a wonder job and I enjoyed the sound of her voice.

Poorly written

This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?

Adolescent / teenagers maybe. I guess even they will read this ironically.

What was most disappointing about L. Sydney Fisher’s story?

The story is written very poorly and lacks a strong plot. The characters aren't fleshed out properly and aren't relatable. Dialogues are poor. Situations created aren't thrilling or real creepy. I wasn't freaked out for even a second. It was like watching a B-grade movie, shot on a budget phone.

What character would you cut from The Devil's Board?

I mean, all of them need much more depth in them to be worth anything.

Any additional comments?

I received this audiobook for free from the author / narrator / publisher in exchange for an unbiased review.

That's It??

The hype was better than the actual story. Not a great read or listen. Absolutely AWFUL!

The Devil's Board

It was too easy to sink to The Devil's Bored title...

I take terms like "based on a true story" and "inspired by true events" with a grain of salt especially when I am reading about possession and the like. I see it more of a tongue and cheek Fargo reference than anything else. **This is a true story. The events depicted in this film took place in Minnesota in 1987. At the request of the survivors, the names have been changed. Out of respect for the dead, the rest has been told exactly as it occurred.**
I had high hopes for this book. But it didn't deliver. I was looking for something to sink my teeth into but it was more of a drudgery than it was an escape. The dialog was basic, the story always seemed like it would get going but didn't, the characters were unable to be related to and therefore I didn't care if any of them lived or died. And then there was the aforementioned "inspired by true events" thing...

This book was given to me for free at my request for my voluntary and unbiased review.
