On a mission to rescue his runaway sister from the lure of flowery compliments and a useless lot of satin-clad scalawags disguised by their snooty titles, Ranulf MacLawry, Marquis of Glengask, has roared into British society like a storm across the Highlands. But he's about to find out that satin has its appeal, especially when it covers the curves of Miss Lady Charlotte Hanover-whose tongue is as sharp as her skin is soft...Lady Charlotte Hanover has had her fill of hot-headed men, having lost her fiancé in an utterly unnecessary duel. When did brawn ever triumph over brains? And yet there is something solid and appealing about the brash Highlander who's as dangerous in the ballroom as in battle. Sometimes bigger really is better . . .

This is one of my favorite Highlander romances and I loved listening to it on audio. Anne Flosnik is great with the different voices(male, female young or old). She really brings out all of them and I feel makes it great. You have a big brogue highlander and a older sister helping his sister in London for a season. It was fun to see how they both came together and it makes you want to listen over and over.

Good Narrators make the best book!!

This has a strong female lead and she gives this highlander a run for his money.

With this book, unlike other books set with Highlanders, there is reference to Scottish history during some of the most explosive times regarding the time the clearances, the times when the English forbade the Scottish from wearing their kilts or speaking in Gaelic at home,to
when most of the Lairds were English or living in England rather than in their homelands. Not to disparage the times in Scotland when they were fighting against English takeover to realize how long and how hard the Scots have been fighting for independence from English rule. Reading the story actually makes you want to study Scottish history. When the clearances occurred the Crown wanted Scottish lands to allow sheep herds to graze on the verdant grasses and at the same time wanted to make the Catholic lands of Ireland protestant, forced the Scots off their land, and move them to Ireland because the Scots were protestant, mostly Calvinists and what became Presbyterian, and the English hoped the Irish Catholics would convert to the Protestant religion. Subsequently, those who were removed were called Scott Irish, and that’s why there are so many Scott’s names in Ireland. The Scots lost their land, their clans, and their identities as they had always known them. The story also explores prejudices that are formed due to differences in cultures. Humans have always included the people who were like them into their group and who are not like them into banishment. This is a very enlightening and entertaining story and I think you’ll really like the characters.

What a treat.
This review requires twenty words. But I di nay want to give away it's plot. So I'll just say, what a treat. A keeper.

Good story. Ended quite abruptly. Narrator leaves me wanting more. Voice grating after a while. 5 more words remaining the end

Good but....
