Not my thing

I figured this wasn't going to be a good fit for me with the whole Alpha/sub thing but KA is my favorite author so I wanted to give it a try; *deep sigh NOPE, I should've just skip this one. It was all me; nothing to do with KA I'm glad that she's stepping out and doing something she's always wanted to do BUTTT I like my alpha man a certain way and that's just not it! I don't have an issue with BDSM I just go out of my way to avoid m/m or any type of arse play with a man's arse its just not what I'm in to. I didn't even finish it sad but true 😢because I've read her entire catalog. I read a lot of reviews and others love it so kuddos to KA and much success I'll just skip this series and wait on her next series.

UGHHHH how boring and monotonous this book was!

I am kicking myself for having used all 3 of my credits on this series. Normally, everything by Kristen Ashley is an automatic purchase for me...I have re-read every other book she's written!! She's my most favorite author ever!!! But I don't remember reading or listening to a more monotonous book in my life. I'm actually heartbroken by how dull and non-existent this story line was. There was about 5% story line, 95% French accent of domme/sub. It's missing THE story line!!! Heck, it's missing ANY storyline! You know, the storyline that keeps you turning the page to find out WHAT happens!?!?! I want to FEEL EMOTIONS about what happens next!!! But with every page turn it was sex, sex, sex..... non-stop..... Seriously, this book made me get desensitized to sex and even bdsm sex! And let me tell you, I love the dark, intense, taboo just as much as I love the sweet, romantic love scenes. But my goshhhh it was the accent and the sheer # of sex scenes in that grating accent!!! Oh, yes, I also have started to detest the French accent!! It's now like nails on a chalkboard!! I am going to try book 2 but only because I already bought it. if it starts out anything like the last one or is filled with French accent as 99.999% of the narrations, I'm asking Amazon for my credits back..... this first one was downright a disappointment to reand and I'll never get those hours back :(.

OH SO MUCH NAUGHTY DELICIOUSNESS!

Wow, wow, wow!!! I loved this book! KA really hit a homer with the Deep End. Great narration, very well written, and so descriptive I felt myself blush more than once before it was all over. If you're not ok with a little kink, this isn't the story for you, but if you can get down with some dark and kinky romance, you'd better get this book today! Every word of this book will have your naughty bits in a twist. It is a whole other level of sexiness KA is bringing to the table, and I am all about it. Definitely credit worthy and highly recommended.

I never thought...

So, KA is ALWAYS an automatic DL. Always. But this one just wasn't for me. I made it through about two hours. I don't know. Just bored. Nothing happened in all that time and I just had to turn it off. 😒

Book returned

If you’re into BDSM, this book is for you. Personally, it was not enjoyable and hard to listen to. K.A. Is one of my favorite Authors, but I’m not a fan of this book.

Not worth reading

What disappointed you about The Deep End?

Not enough of a storyline. All about the sex.

What could Kristen Ashley have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?

Include an interesting story.

Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Lizbeth Gwynn?

Anyone!

What character would you cut from The Deep End?

n/a

Any additional comments?

I will not waste money on another book in this series.

I'm a KA fan, but...

This one didn't quite do it for me. way too much sex and not enough story. I would have enjoyed deeper character development. I made it to the end, but contemplated not listening. In the end I realize, too I much prefer a dominant guy!

Love Kristen Ashley's books. And the subject matter didn't bother me. BUT...

.....it seems I'm not into male submisives. Although I will listen to the second book. Because again, I like Kristen Ashley

I loved it

I was really nervous about starting this book, I didn't think it would hold my interest. But I was wrong, this book is everything you come to expect from a Kristen Ashley book....and then some. It had an interesting storyline, characters you can't help but fall in love with...and a couple that will drive you crazy. I laughed a lot through this book, Olivier was hilarious and incredibly alpha, which I wasn't expecting. Amelie was sassy. They both weren't afraid to show their vulnerable side and work through their issues. I think they are a perfect match. It's a sweet, sexy story that will leave you wanting more. I am so excited for the next book in the series.

Lizbeth Gwynn's narration was fantastic, I'm sure this is the first narration of hers I've listened too and I'm hooked. She brought the characters to life and made the reader feel apart of the story.

5 The Deep End Stars

Wow, this was not what I was expecting but it was at the same time. I LOVED it first of all.

I loved the way Amelie is in this book, the way she talks the way she holds herself. She knows her own self-worth. But she is looking for something or someone and she is choosy and she is allowed to be.

Then Olivier comes in to the Honey Club and it was like magnets. Amelie knew he was hers. And not in the love at first sight kind of thing. It was more of an understanding he was who she has been looking for and vice versa.

I lovvvved that we have such an Alpha male being a sub. If anyone can do Alpha its Kristen Ashley but to also make him still be a MAN and submit, yum.

I am not a huge fan of Domme’s, not because of anything they do or don’t do. I just could kind of take them or leave them but the way Amelie is as a character I think I would defiantly read more Domme’s if they are like her.

I loved it, can’t wait for more in this series. Another outstanding listen by Kristen Ashley and I am a fan of Lizbeth Gwynn’s narration. All I can think to say is MORE PLEASE! <3

*You don't have to like my review but its 100% my opinion, and I am allowed to have it.*

I'll let you know once I've read it for myself

I just didn't click with narrator's style and voice. I couldn't finish the first chapter.

The Deep End review

I have read many of Kristen Ashley’s book but this book took her skill as an author to the next level. The way she writes so of the scenes in this book are fantastic. Even book I read by Kristen just makes me love reading more and more. I would recommend this book to reader that love a steamy story line that keeps you wanting more.

This was a bore.

Kristen Ashley has written many great books. Unfortunately, this isn't one of them.
It was as if she wrote 20 explicit BDSM scenes then squeezed a story around them.

Bdsm galore!

In true KA style, the story line is easy to follow. Admittably, the start is a little confusing as you get used to the narrator impersonating a French woman and some of the names are unusual but it doesn't take long to get to the good stuff. I've never been much into bondage but this has shined a new light onto the subject. There is the usual drama but it comes unexpectedly in this book. The love scenes are explicit but if you don't mind, you'll get used to it. Will reread
