What made the experience of listening to The Dead Yard the most enjoyable?

What was your reaction to the ending? (No spoilers please!)

Sadly, although I am a big fan of this writer, I was disappointed in the climax. I was not able to suspend my disbelief.

What does Gerard Doyle bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Just love his inflection and his command of a broad range of voices and dialects.

Any additional comments?

Although I had some difficulties accepting the story line, I will continue reading McKinty's novels. They are quite entertaining.

Fantastic Tale! Love McKinty's Writing

This is the second of three books McKinty has published featuring Michael Forsythe. It is, like the first (Dead I May Well Be) a real thriller. It is overflowing with Michael's exploits that result in horrific blood and gore, but the characters, the settings and of course, Michael's narration makes it like listening to poetry. Believe me, once you are into these novels, you'll want to read all three!

Each one I read in this series I think, this one is the best. This author/narrator combo is incredible.

The Narration was very well done.

I bought this book when it was on sale and I was pleasantly surprised. The story was a bit predictable but the characters were vibrant and the narration was excellent. Moving back and forth between Irish and British accents seamlessly the narrator really made the story come alive. I had not listened to the previous title and will now go back and do so considering how much I liked this one.

Gritty thriller

Everyone has a flaw and Sean’s shows up when there’s a pretty wee lass in the picture.

It’s a very good plot but the murder descriptions could have been toned down. Kudos to the reader.
