Publisher's summary

My name is Oliver Arsen, but my mates call me Ollie.

I live hard and love harder, and it's love that usually gets me in the most trouble. According to the greater population, I'm the ultimate jerk. My affection tends to be short-lived - a quality I've been assured multiple times by the fairer sex isn't becoming - and the leaving part of loving and leaving has always come natural.

At least, it used to.

Until her.

Luciana Wright.

She's an American bombshell and my sister's best friend - a woman so wrong for me, it's written in the waves. And she's the reason we're all here. The reason I have to go back to explain how it all went wrong.

To the day the jerk started falling.

Cute

Super cute ending. Kinda on the edge of my seat when Lucky needed to get to Paris.

Decent Story …. Bad Storytelling

I really wanted to like this book as much as the others, but good lord the “chuckling”. It was cringe worthy and unnecessary. At some parts it didn’t even seem an appropriate time for a fake laugh. Book would have been much better without it.

If this didn't annoy you to death, you may enjoy this book.

I would have preferred if the first book had just ended.

Hard to listen to

I actually like the male narrator’s voice, but the constant chuckle over and over again was terrible. Was not a pleasing sound and took away from the story. I would say it takes up 1/4 of the narration. I’m not sure if it was scripted or added in by narrator, but it was a poor choice

Can’t stand his laugh when he does his podcast

Loved the story. Loved the first book. But when I heard the narrator on this book I cringed. Good story tho, so I listened through it all.

The most amazing!

This is by far the best audiobook series I’ve heard. The narrators are the perfect fit and the story line had me hooked the entire time. I loved loved loved this series!

A disappointing 2.5 stars for 2.5 hrs

Coming off the first book in this duet, I had high hopes for this...sad to say, but I was disappointed.

Rupert Channing is new to me and his narration was nothing to write home about, but not too off putting.
I enjoyed Charlotte’s portrayal of Ollie more than Rupert’s portrayal. I don’t know how to explain it but while Charlotte narrated for Ollie in book one I didn’t see him as a jerk, just misunderstood. I liked him from the beginning. However, when Rupert narrated for Ollie I saw him as an asshole and really didn’t like him so I skipped through the first half of the book (maybe because I didn’t want my view of Ollie ruined, but mainly because I heard it all in book one 🤷🏽‍♀️).

Anyway, while this book was not a total retelling of book one, if you remove what you know from book one this book was probably only 2.5 hours of new material. I think MM could have skipped all of Ollie’s musing in this book and add 2 hrs. to book one and wrap the story up there.

Now, I must say I sincerely enjoyed the epilogues (yes, TWO beautifully done epilogues). I liked Ollie from book one like I said, but the epilogue in this book made me fall in love with him...swoon 😍😍.

Would I recommend? Yes and no...yes for the epilogues and the last 2.5 hours (so basically closure if you are coming off a high from book one), and no because I don’t think 2.5 hours to get to closure is worth a credit 🤷🏽‍♀️.
