Better the devil you know than the devil you don't...

A deadly new enemy rules Alesia with an iron fist - and an unnatural interest in the magic of the Confectioner's Guild. Betrayed by one of their own, Wren and her few remaining allies flee Maradis to secure whatever aid they can find.

But new dangers and old ghosts lurk around every corner, forcing Wren to confront truths she thought she'd buried deep long ago. Will Wren be able to piece together an alliance, and enough of her own shattered heart, to take back her home from those who hold it hostage? Or will her magic prove too tempting a morsel for her enemies to refuse...

Don't miss this thrilling conclusion to the Confectioner Chronicles!

Epic Conclusion

Another harbinger edge of your seat adventure for our Confectioner's Guild and friends as they make a last ditch attempt to save their kingdom! It was a very fitting ending to a well throughout series! This series is definitely a must read!

the ending to a sweet series

The confectioner's truth, while told in Luana's adorable style of writing, was somewhat lackluster compared to books 1&2.
What made Confectioner's Guild and Coup was the air of mystery to be solved, mixed in with magic, and angst.

In contrast, Confectioner's Guild focused on the result of coup, fighting a war, and having lovers seperated almost the entire book. ☹️

It felt rushed, to be short. Battle and strategy bits were too long, while character interactions were far too short. I missed the banter between Wren and Caladus, Hale, Tom, Virgil, and Lucas.

Instead we are forced to forgive characters we may not be ready to forgive, but that is war.
We also see a very cushy lifestyle being led by the ex royals who are , may I emphasize, in exile and hiding. I'm just saying.

Still a solid listen and read, when you take the story for what it is. The end was predictable, but the journey to get there was full of surprise and self-sacrifice.

Wonderful and magical series

This whole series was a wonderful and magical series I just loved it! As the final book in the series it did not let down and was filled with a great action and adventure and was conclusion to the whole story. I liked the narrator choice, I think she did a good job bringing the characters to life and did a good job with both male and female characters. I would definitely recommend this book to anyone who wants a fun story filled with magic, rebellions and strong friendships to get them through the tough times.

Good Finale

I have been enjoying the Confectioner Chronicles and was worried about the ending. Too many trilogies flounder at the end. This one did not. Claire Luana keeps you guessing taking the story in directions you don't expect. I liked I couldn't just predict everything.
The only issue with the writing is the fight scenes are basic and choppy. I wasn't really excited about them.
I enjoyed the narrator s usual. She gave a real voice to Wren and made other characters distinct.
Overall this was a fun series with a good finale.

Magic Exists

I loved this series from the first book if you love mystery with a twist like magic infused treats this series will be perfect for you. This is the final novel and it all comes down to guarding magic or letting the truth out. The story is woven together so well your on the edge of your seat the entire time. I like that the characters are flawed and not perfect, that makes them easier to accept when they do the unexpected. I would throughly loved to see more books with these characters as i think their a real uniqueness to them.

The final book!

It was everything I needed it to be and a box of luck-infused confections!

When the 2nd book ended my main thought was "Oh, how are they going to fix this?" And, honestly, I spent most of this book wondering that, too. Which I really enjoyed. I like reading books that I can't just automatically guess how things will go.

The Confectioner's Truth picks up not long after The Confectioner's Coup. There is a new emperor in power and the guilds are beginning to band together, for once, against him. And then there's Hale. Oh Hale, what are we going to do with you?

A lot, apparently. Hale finds himself caught up in the midst of the new regime's efforts to gain a firmer foothold in their newly conquered country. Meanwhile Wren and the rest of the Confectioner's Guild aren't about to bow to their new leader without a fight. But are they prepared to fight to the death for their home?

The author does a great job of hurting my precious babies. In fact, there is one character we get to know in this book that is very... inventively cruel. That's all I can say without spoiling anything.

This universe is so unique I literally would pay to read a history of this world that Claire has invented, including full write-ups about all the gods and what they stand for. But, then, I am a total nerd.

All in all, this was a great conclusion to a great series.

Great conclusion!

Loved how the third installment continued where the last one ended. The narrator, Kelsey does a marvelous job. She is able to portray all of the characters by using multiple voices for all of them. Easy to follow!!
I didn’t realize how much I missed this world till I started this audiobook. Ohh Wren is on a journey in this book. I was on the edge of my seat listening.

Fantastic conclusion for the trilogy

I absolutely loved this trilogy! The third, and final book did not disappoint at all. After the emotionally and physically devastating ending of the second book, the characters are left in not very good places. Wren, Lucas, Hale, Tom, Caladis, Olivia, et all, are all dealing with the aftermath in their own ways.

This world, full of magically infused food and drink, is such a unique and well constructed place, it easily draws you in. I love the use of food metaphors when describing things, it adds so much more to the perspective, and brings food and drink that more more to the forefront. And the use of food based expletives is perfect (“You scared the sugar out of me!) Everything drives home how much food plays a part in the lives of these characters. It’s their very essence.

The revolt against the new emperor is full of twists and turns. With alliances and betrayals, loyalties seemingly flip like pancakes (see, the food metaphors are contagious!). It’s a roller coaster ride of events and emotions all the way to the end. There are some very sweet relationship moments between Wren and Lucas, but especially Tom and Trick. I found myself smiling a lot whenever we got to see them together. The action is heart pounding and fast paced, and and story line likes with twist and turn, keeping you guessing.

The ending was the perfect conclusion to the story. It worked so well, and left me very satisfied with the outcome. I’m sad that the trilogy is over, but I enjoyed every minute of the ride.

5 Confectioner Stars

WWWOOOOOOWWWWW!!! Omgosh what. a. ride. An amazing conclusion to Wren and the gang's story. I'm sad it's over! But that just means I'll have to relisten to it 😁 This installment is a bit darker and more heart wrenching than the other ones. Lots of action and twists and 😱 moments. It also switches whose POV it follows which really adds to the story. It's so so good!!
And of course Ms. Navarro knocked it out of the park! She continues to amaze me with her talent. 💙
