Publisher's Summary

Mankind's outer colonies are disappearing. Without warning. Without a trace. Fleet command chalks the attacks up to pirates, but Captain Dryker of the UFC Johnston isn't buying it.

Defying command, he leads his misfit crew into hostile territory in search of answers. They encounter the mythical Void Wraith, an unstoppable legend whispered by the first race. After 26,000 years, the Void Wraith have returned to begin the next Eradication. Their technology is superior, their motives unclear.

Humanity cannot stop them. Not without help. Captain Dryker's only hope is to forge an alliance with mankind's greatest enemy, the savage Tigris.

One maverick captain, an unlikely crew, and an aging vessel are all that stand between humanity and the Eradication.

"It's like Battlestar Galactica and Mass Effect had a baby, and that baby was raised by StarCraft. I read this book in one sitting and immediately looked for the next." (The author's totally biased friend)

Great SciFi!

Who was your favorite character and why?

That's a difficult choice as there are so many great characters. Pvt Edwards definitely stands out as a favorite. His determination mixed with his comedic comments make him unforgettable.

What about Ryan Kennard Burke’s performance did you like?

Ryan Kennard Burke does an amazing job voicing so many different characters. I am always impressed with his narrations and his ability to smoothly transition into each character as he narrates.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Absolutely. Listening to this book certainly helps my work day go by faster.

Any additional comments?

Chris Fox is an impressive author. I have listened to the Deathless series and now the Void Wraith series. I am looking forward to reading more of his books. I would highly recommend his books to anyone who.

Excellent Dog-Walking Audiobook.

If you are a teenager who loves space opera stop reading this review NOW.

Still here, youngsters? Well you really should stop reading this. The trilogy is perfect.

So, older readers, now that we are alone...

This trilogy is fun to read and the narrator does a good job... mostly... there are a few fluffs and stumbles and a couple of wrong-name problems but overall the narrator does fine.

The characters are likable, interesting, and well drawn if entirely two dimensional. The writing is spritely and engaging and the plot makes sense.

But... The author likes to throw in oddball notions every couple of chapters. Some of them work out OK -- The "Helios Gate" idea, for instance, is odd but he makes it work for him -- but other oddball notions are simply too gooney to pull off. These off-puttingly silly notions accumulate during the three books and by the time we get to the end of the third book it is hard not to step out of the story for an occasional Mystery Science 3000 -style guffaw.

An Entertaining and Original Sci-Fi Adventure

The Void Wraith Trilogy was an entertaining and original Sci-Fi adventure with epic space battles, and a good bit of humor which made this an all-around great listen. The author did a great job creating an original story with unforgettable characters. And even though there is a lot of humorous parts, (especially the tongue-in-cheek recaps after every book) there was a lot of depth to the story, creating a truly enjoyable listen. The narrator does a fantastic job with this story. He really seems to encapsulate the characters personality with their voices, and I just don’t think this story would be the same if I had read it instead of listening. Overall, this was definitely a great listen and the follow up trilogy, the Ganog wars is great as well.

The author gifted me a copy of this book with no expectation of me posting a review. This review is my unbiased opinion.

All the works!

Would you listen to The Complete Void Wraith Trilogy again? Why?

I will be listening to this again at some point.

What did you like best about this story?

I felt that this series is a hidden gem, bringing the three sides currently at odds with each other (Humans, Tigras, etc) to come together was really well done.

Which character – as performed by Ryan Kennard Burke – was your favorite?

Nolan, as he starts as a small fry and grows to become an amazing commander. Ryan is no Mark Thompson from Star Wars but hes still very good.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Just enjoyed listening to the book in entirety.

Any additional comments?

If you like a book that you can just sit there and take your mind into this world the author created in space you will like this. I also like that most of the book takes place in space with little or no influence from Earth's Government itself. There is some (U.N. or similar) government that makes all the decisions and the crew is angry to follow them in most Sci Fi space books. That idea is used too much as it is and I'm glad in this book it was the captains in space that told Earth what to do.

just ok

This book was just ok. the author did this wierd thing where you get the prequel if you goto his web site. I didnt do that and it felt like i was missing alot. The characters seemed generic and flat to me. The story was ok but sometimes big obstacles were just resolved in an unsatisfying way.

I enjoyed the trilogy. It is full of cliches but a fun listen. Narration is above average.

Really good book, love that it comes as a trilogy.

This is a really good book and I love that it came as a trilogy. The author's commentary before the third book was spot on.

Flawed, but fun

This is a fun, action-packed sci-fi series. The overall story is a great idea, very similar to Mass Effect. But, for those of you who understand the underlying science behind some of the concepts the author is using, this book is going to be infuriating. He displays a lack of basic understanding of how some of the concepts he's using work, and from a standpoint of someone who understands the theory it's painfully obvious at times. This doesn't really stop the book from being fun, but it doesn stop me from giving it another star. Another star is lost because, while the story is great, characters are pretty flat and one-dimensional. They're still somewhat believable, and it's not the worst characterization in the world, but the author has some work to do in this regard.

Rambling nonsense.<br />

Three books where one would have done, just witters on all the time about inane stuff and constantly repeats events from different characters viewpoints.
You'll find yourself skipping all the time. Really needs some serious editing.
Bonkers story that makes battlefield earth look almost sane.
Definitely among one of the worst books I've read,.

very enjoyable listen

What made the experience of listening to The Complete Void Wraith Trilogy the most enjoyable?

the whole series is fantastic, from the characters & attention

What other book might you compare The Complete Void Wraith Trilogy to, and why?

has to be the Ganog Wars, same author & narrator & is infact the next story leading on from the void wraith story this in turn will lead on to what I assume will be a final trilogy against the nameless ones.

Any additional comments?

Chris Fox's style of story telling & Burkes narration is a winning duo for me, the last 14 books I have listened to have been Fox & Burke combinations between the deathless, project solaris, void wraith & Ganog Wars series each book i have enjoyed & has left me wanting to dive right into the next one.
I love the "previously on" section at the start of the books where the previous book is recapped in a funny tv style & have found myself suddenly tittering with laughter to the surprise of people standing next to me at checkouts or while walking the dogs.
if you haven't already done so you should check his other books.
