Simon Vance is the best narrator I've heard - HANDS DOWN! The books and stories are what they are, all very good but he makes the characters and books come to life.

EXCEPTIONAL narration!

Would you listen to The Complete Sherlock Holmes again? Why?

Yes, absolutely. The more you listen, the more you listen for clues and details about Holmes' cases.

What was one of the most memorable moments of The Complete Sherlock Holmes?

When Holmes purposefully let a person go who had killed someone who was abusive and violent. Holmes had a sense of justice.

What does Simon Vance bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

The performance brings each character to life. Not just a monotone reading.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

It's too long to listen to in a single sitting but you can (and often want to) listen to a single story in a sitting. I often do during my commute.

Any additional comments?

Very enjoyable.

Love the stories

This complete Sherlock Holmes is absolutely amazing! The Narrator, Simon Vance was the perfect choice for this audiobook as he was captivating in his performance. All of the stories written by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle are as captivating today as I'm sure they ever were and perhaps more when you consider how far ahead of his time he truly was when he wrote this amazing character. I would highly recommend this audiobook to anyone and it's a must have for true Sherlock Holmes fans.

Fantastic narration by Simon Vance!
These tales blend high adventure with all the subtle complexities of scientific method. I am both enchanted and transported to the enigmatic Victorian era, simultaneously perched on the cusp of modernity but with one foot firmly planted in the dark ages. All the wonder and mystery I enjoyed while devouring these tales in childhood is evoked in an instant.

Quintessential Holmes

I feel like there’s been some odd post-processing... maybe to shorten it by shortening pauses? Parts of it are bizarrely fast. I’ve been listening at 0.75x and that’s mostly good, aside from a few drawn out words. Story and performance are great. Wish the chapters had names to assist with navigation.

Oddly fast talking?
