“…narrating the novels of Jane Austen reminded me that no matter how much the world changes, human nature never does.” (Alison Larkin)

I am THRILLED to find out that someone has thought to release Alison Larkin's wonderful Jane Austen narrations in one recording!! Alison Larkin is my absolute favorite Austen narrator because she makes it all so easy to understand and absolutely gets Austen's humor. Plus her voice is just such a pleasure to listen to! What a treat!

Jane Austen as she was meant to be heard!!!

Jane Austen's masterful works speak for themselves. The performance and narration were excellent and engaging. The books are sorted so you know where the book starts (and ends) that you want to listen to. Other reviewers complained they didn't know what books were where in the chapter listing - Audible must have updated the book/chapter listing. I listen on my computer, iphone and iPad - I can't speak to Kindle or Android devices whose Audible version may operate differently. Very pleased with the collection.

Excellent All Around

I've loved Jane Austen's works for a long time and I'm fairly certain I've read each of her books at least twice. I loved listening to them though. I took this book with me on four flights and listened to it to go to sleep to every night for several months. I recently started at the beginning again for a third time.
What can I say, Austen's characters and stories are like old friends and Alison Larkin brings them all too life. She does a good job of making each character unique and distinct without using any over-the-top or ridiculous voices.
This audio book is a great deal since it has all Austen's books in it. My favorite is Persuasions or Mansfield , but they're all great and wonderfully read by Alison Larkin.

A Classic Done Right

I loved the humor Jane Austin infused in each of her eight books. Her writings are a brilliant social commentary, proving that though technology and custom have changed, human nature and need have not.
