Story
In the eastern reaches of the Thames lies the Hispaniola, an inn kept by Jim Hawkins and his son. Late one night, a mysterious girl named Natty arrives on the river with a request for Jim from her father - Long John Silver. Aged and weak, but still possessing a strange power, the pirate proposes Jim and Natty sail to Treasure Island in search of Captain Flint's hidden bounty. But the thrill of the ocean odyssey gives way to terror as the Nightingale reaches its destination, for it seems Treasure Island is not as uninhabited as it once was....

Story
Most people have heard of the Celts - the elusive, ancient tribal people who resided in present-day England, Ireland, Scotland and France. Paradoxically characterized as both barbaric and innocent, the Celts appeal to the modern world as a symbol of a bygone era, a world destroyed by the ambition of empire and the spread of Christianity throughout Western Europe. Despite the pervasive cultural and literary influence of the Celts, shockingly little is known of their way of life and beliefs, because very few records of their stories exist.

Story
Matthew and Marilla Cuthbert of Green Gables had no intention of adopting the talkative, mischievous, red-headed girl the orphanage in Nova Scotia sent by mistake. What they wanted was a sturdy, sensible boy to help with the chores. Instead, they got 11-year-old Anne Shirley, whose capacity for adventure was only matched by her bright spirit and love of life. Still, there was something about the little girl that gave them second thoughts. She was keen of wit with a scintillating effervescence that was purely captivating. Just perhaps....

Story
Thomas Paine published Common Sense in 1776, a time when America was a hotbed of revolution. The pamphlet, which called for America's political freedom, sold more than 150,000 copies in three months. Paine not only spurred his fellow Americans to action but soon came to symbolize the spirit of the Revolution itself. His persuasive pieces, written so elegantly, spoke to the hearts and minds of all those fighting for freedom from England.

Publisher's Summary
This set includes five tales of extraordinary heroism, marvelous intrigue, and exceptional courage that have inspired and amazed people for generations. Gulliver’s Travels is Jonathan Swift’s comic tale of an Englishman who journeys to four fantastical and exotic lands filled with unforgettable characters, from the pint-size Lilliputians to the giant Brobdingnagians. The Merry Adventures of Robin Hood takes us to Sherwood Forest, where the brigand and his band of “merry men” rob from the rich to give to the poor — to the consternation of the Sheriff of Nottingham. The Jungle Book transports readers into a wondrous world where danger lurks behind every drooping vine and the law of the jungle is the key to survival. Robert Louis Stevenson’s Treasure Island follows young Jim Hawkins as he learns the ways of the buccaneer from a group of seafaring miscreants, including the nefarious peg leg, Long John Silver. White Fang by Jack London recreates the forbidding world of the Yukon Gold Rush, where a wild dog must endure violence, hardship, and bitter cold on his journey from savagery to civilization.

Great stories, difficult format
Any additional comments?
This is a great set of stories well read/performed. The only complaint we had was the format: it's a HUGE book to download and it's nearly impossible to find a given book in the collection as they aren't differentiated. So, we just listened to it straight through and enjoyed the classic stories, but will find it hard to go back and listen again.

Wonderful
Would you consider the audio edition of The Adventure Collection to be better than the print version?
Having the ability to "Read" on the go, any audio book is better than a print version in my opinion. The only exception, is the lack of note taking. But if you are listening for pleasure, Audiobooks are the eay to go.
What did you like best about this story?
I particularly enjoyed White Fang and Robin Hood the most. They were a joy to listen to. The other stories were a little less enjoyable, but not by much. As a 25 year old guy, I found these "children's stories" far more enjoyable than most stuff written today.
What about the narrators’s performance did you like?
All 5 narrations were magnificent. The accents were wonderful.
Any additional comments?
Only change needed, is better labeling of the books and chapters. There is no separation and if one wanted to re-listen to a particular book, you would have to guess where it was.

Overall Great Collection
Would you listen to The Adventure Collection again? Why?
Probably would only listen to Treasure Island or Robin Hood again
Who was your favorite character and why?
Robin Hood.
Have you listened to any of the narrators’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
I've listened to other Simon Vance performances and as always he was wonderful.
Any additional comments?
Main problem with this is no track listings. You can skip chunks of it (I have already read White Fang so I skipped through much of that). Either way though in case anyone wants an idea of the individual books...here's approximate timestamps for this collection:
Treasure Island 0 - 7hr14min
The Jungle Book 7hr16min - 12hr26min
Gulliver's Travels 12hr27min - 22hr22min
White Fang 22hr23min - 30hr27min
Robin Hood 30hr28min - End
Each section begins with a bit about the other so these are very approximate times, but should give anyone looking to skip around between books a general idea of where to stop your fast-forwarding.

What did you love best about The Adventure Collection?
If you have a lot of time to listen like me, this is a book to spend a credit on.
What about the narrators’s performance did you like?
I think Brilliance studios in general has the best recordings I have listened to so far.
Any additional comments?
I enjoyed most of these books. The only parts I did not enjoy was the last half of the Jungle Book and the last half of Gulliver's Travels. There were simply too many Travels.
Long John Silver, White Fang, and Little John are now some of my favorite characters in fiction.

Classic adventure collection for just one credit?
This is a fabulous collection of five of some of the greatest adventure classics of all time. The collection includes treasure Island, the jungle book, Gullivers travels, White Fang and the merry adventures of Robin Hood. Whilst I am familiar with many of the stories excepting White Fang, the narration by Michael Page and Simon Vance is superb however White Fang read by a previously unknown narrator to me was to my view something of a drag to listen to. This does not in any way detract from the worth of this collection which is without doubt superb value for money and will entertain, astonish and delight children of all ages. Perfect for long car journeys all lazy summer afternoons at home. You should also check out the enchanted collection from brilliance which includes A collection of tales such as black beauty, the secret garden and Alices adventures in Wonderland to name but a few.

as I have just got this collection I can't comment too much on each of the 5 individual books, however have noticed that there is no way of telling where each books starts or stops, which means you have no other option other than listening to each book in the order they come in...one at a time.

Hard to rate
It's hard to put a rating on a collection of stories like this. All I can say is the narrators were all first rate, but I was surprised at how little I engaged with the stories - except for Treasure Island - a rollicking good tale that one! But at only 1 credit you can at least now say you've read all the "classic children's adventures", and you may even enjoy one or two.

Impossible to navigate
We're part way through listening to this with the kids and while the audiobook itself is good, the way it's formatted is incredibly frustrating as it's just broken up into 151 chapters with no indication of where one book ends and another starts. This makes it very hard to listen to a specific book which is annoying (or find your place again if you lose it!). This is a simple fix for Audible if they were to just rename the chapters into something more usable (which they did for Sherlock Holmes) so fingers crossed.

Enjoyable
Enjoyed 'Robin Hood' and 'Treasure Island', the other three stories were not particularly to my taste. Though all the narrative was well executed.

not a fan for the narrators
The narrator really made these hard to listen to. Sadly, for me, he was just boring.
