Publisher's Summary

"Lily?" My stomach dropped as a tall, dark-haired man stepped into view. Had he been hiding between the trees? "No. Sorry." Gulping, I took a step back. "I'm not Lily." He shook his head, a satisfied grin on his face. "No. You are Lily." "I'm Summer. You have the wrong person."

You utter freak! I could hear my pulse crashing in my ears. How stupid to give him my real name. He continued to stare at me, smiling. It made me feel sick. "You are Lily," he repeated. Before I could blink, he threw his arms forward and grabbed me. I tried to shout, but he clasped his hand over my mouth, muffling my screams. My heart raced. I'm going to die.

For months, Summer is trapped in a cellar with the man who took her - and three other girls: Rose, Poppy, and Violet. His perfect, pure flowers. His family. But flowers can't survive long cut off from the sun, and time is running out....

The Cabin was better

I just didn't get as into this one. I listened to The Cabin by the same author and liked it so I thought I'd give this a try but it just didn't hold my interest in the same way. The female narrator was okay and I liked one of the male narrators but the other one (I don't know which was which) had a voice that kind of annoyed me. He wasn't in it too much which is why I still gave this 3 stars.

Anticlimactic!

Kept me on the edge of my seat until the ending. It was very anticlimactic. Author repeats herself a little too much but it was a good fast read.

ONLY OKAY

Listening to Summer cry all the time got old and I felt the ending was anti-climactic. Half way into it, I just wanted it to be over and was really hoping the ending would save it for me, but it didn't. It wasn't horrible, was just kind of a boring read.

It was very predictable.

I felt like I had watched this same story line in a movie before. Maybe. It was just OK for me. I listened to it over a span of a week. I hate when books just abruptly end. Like the author got tired of writing.

Finally, a 1at POV!

Well written and suspenseful. I actually found myself being more aware of my surroundings as I ventured out alone to start my day. I have to say, however, the ending was just too "heroic." I'd like to see a sequel that reveals the emotional struggles of the protagonist post-survival. Anyone can survive; few people really live. All in all, a great read!

Not What I Expected But Still Appreciated

I came here from Wattpad, eager to read this book after hearing it had been published. However, there are two things I'd like to point out:

1. The old version was WAY better than this one in my opinion. Especially since it had a equal balance of chapters between the POVs. Whereas in this version, most of Lewis' chapters had been cut short or taken out all together.
2. The narrators for Lilly/Summer and Lewis were t e r r i b l e. They were kind of monotone and seemed like adults in their thirties rather than in their late teens, like the characters in the book were.

On a lighter note, the story was still amazing and Colin's chapters really evolved well in comparison to the ones on Wattpad. However, I just liked the old version better.

a monotone narrator

Sounds like the narrator has just finished learning to read. The story however was good

Addictive!

Started listening to this book Saturday and finished it by Monday. This was my first audible book. First of many! Really enjoyed it. Gripping with suspense. Addictive. Certainly kept me occupied ! Highly recommended. Think I’ll read another of her books.
