Eddie Mason is done with the CIA, and he thought he'd made it clear that he never wants to work with them again.

So when his former boss, Craig Black, shows up out of nowhere with a story about Senator Sam Hawthorne's suspicious meeting with a shadowy underworld figure, he wants no part of it. Meanwhile, Loren follows the senator's shady associate to the Dominican Republic in an attempt to unravel the mystery from that end. Neither mission turns out to be as simple as they anticipated, and Eddie and Loren are pulled into a dangerous conspiracy deeper than they could have ever imagined.

Captivating

I listened on Audible on a long trip. I took a detour at the end of the drive so I could finish listening to it before I got home.

Great addition for summer listening!

I just completed The Caveman Conspiracy. Congratulations to new author, Bret Hurst, on an excellent first book and I look forward to Book 2 release date!

Good Read

This is not my usual genre of book but it was suggested by a friend and I enjoyed it. I look forward to more in this series.

How did it get its title

You will not learn how the book got its title until almost halfway through. This book is suspenseful and has the action that I like. It is a slow cooker that slowly weaves its plot carefully before it reaches a boil. Layer by layer It lays down intrigue, subterfuge and diverse agendas. You have questions but they aren't answered as fast as you would like. This draws you in and before you realize it you are hooked. Then there is no putting the book down until you find your answers. Then there is the end...

Great characters!

I really enjoyed the different characters and how much depth the author revealed in each one. The story was very intriguing with a great ending and anticipation for the next part of the story.

Intense

A bit of a slow burner at first, but Hurst creates an exciting thriller, fast paced and riveting. I look forward to the further adventures of Eddie Mason
