All of our politicians and media should read this book. As intended, it is timely, just before the celebration of America’s 250th birthday.
Mr. Baier makes the case that Americans can, and have, disagreed vociferously without being enemies and that we should again. He provided many examples.
He also makes the case, God bless him, that we can admit America’s faults in her history without demonizing her… recognizing her greatness.
He utilized many of my favorite quotes from presidents and other notables, which I thoroughly enjoyed.
Definitely worth your time. If you do not have time to sit down and read it, buy the audiobook, which the author narrated in his easy-going style.

This is a great, educational and encouraging book in such a divisive time in our nations history. I just wish I could assign my high school students to read it but I will be quoting it whenever I can.

A really wonderful book full of so much important information about the history of the United States, Bret Baier does a fabulous job in presenting it. The only thing I found slightly missing was emphasis on how so many Leftist/Progressives/Democrats carry on about how bad the Nation is, how horrible our history has been, and how antiquated the Constitution and Bill of Rights are: they want to change our founding documents into something that they will more easily be able to manipulate to their own ends (which is, to grab and hold onto power endlessly). There are a number of culprits behind this twisted view, but the biggest faction by far is what we laughingly call "Higher Education" (and even middle and elementary education more recently). A big thanks to Bret Baier for his book and his on-going attempts to stem this corrisive tide.
