My only complaint is it's not the whole story but I bv was still a good listen.

absolutely amazing!

this was thoroughly enjoyable. the acting was incredibly well done and immersive, worth the 6 dollars. This is a full cast production so there are many people doing the acting. It tells the tale with gusto, and with such wit and pacing that i could see in my minds eye exactly what was happening. It uses sound effects appropriately and in a way that dont detract from the story. All in all, this is the best way to experience this story to me which, when i originally read by the author was good, but a very dry read none the less. I cannot recommend this enough.

A classic!

Another wonderful performance by Dark Mysteries! H. P. Lovecraft never gets old. Some of the vocabulary is a bit crass to our modern senses, but if you know anything about Lovecraft and the times he was alive in, it makes perfect sense and shouldn't put you off from this piece.

Very enjoyable!

The performance on behalf of the H.P. Lovecraft Historical Society was phenomenal. The book itself was also amazing, another excellent piece of literature by H.P. Lovecraft.

A Fantastic Story for the Imagination

I love this book! The narration is theatrical and professional (the first audiobook I heard in such a format, FYI). Aside from its incredible presentation, the story itself is a timeless classic! Horror/ mystery/ thriller.... it’s short enough to keep interest and doesn’t drag at any point. It keeps you on edge - captivated.

I highly recommend this!

Listen to one of the most notable books of HP Lovecraft’s Cthulhu Mythos. I will be reading the others, for sure!

Good but not the original

I enjoyed it but when talking to other people about it the story wasnt the same and since this was the first time listening to any of hp lovecrafts stories it confused me, would recommend the call of cthulhu and other stories over this

A fun classic!

Another fun radio-show of a Lovecraft classic. I love the world that Lovecraft created and the over-the-top, kooky performance given by the Society.

Incredible

A short story but an amazing one. The performance of all the actors who took part was fantastic especially the use of accents.

The Stars Are (Almost) Right

The first thing to note is that the HP Lovecraft Historical Society's rendition of this classic tale is a Dramatisation, and not a simple rendition of the text. The second thing to note is that it's brilliantly done , with great attention to detail and a talented cast. The part of Johansen being particularly effective.

The HPHLS as the Dark Adventure Radio Theatre have produced a number of audio dramatisations of HPL's stories, all of which are superb and happily now available on audible.co.uk as well as audible.com.

Who can doubt that in these times that the stars are fast coming right ant these tales will allow you to know your enemy? Ph'nglui mglw'nafh Cthulhu R'lyeh wgah'nagl fhtagn.

Another Great Performance!

A dark and brooding adaptation of one of Lovecraft's less horrifying, but most infamous stories.
