A great sequel plus an interview with the author!

TW: murder, descriptions of torture

This book is a great sequel to the Butcher story of Wren Muller. You will need to read the first to really understand this one, but it doesn’t make it any less engrossing. This series with Wren reminds me of Holly Gibney of Stephen King origin. I can see the author taking this all the way and really making a great masterpiece of a trilogy/ anthology. This is high praise, as Holly is my favorite detective character.

Make sure you read to the end and listen to the interview with the author, it gives great insights in the writing process! I agree with decisions she says she has to make for the future of the story. I would say anyone who likes murder mystery need this book in their hands

Chilling

Loved the book. I am not scared by much but the chapter written from Jeremy’s perspective were truly chilling. Ren is truly a woman to root for and I look forward to seeing what happens next!

edge of your seat

epically good. every moment held me spellbound torn between needing to know what's next and not wanting to breath in case the spell would be broken. I can't hardly wait for book 3

Left in awe

Talk about mic drop! Definitely kept me in my toes and guessing. I truly look forward to the 3rd book in the Dr Muller series.

it was an easy but surprising story to follow. I enjoyed it very much. yes

Man O Man O Man

The first book - pretty dang good. I used to think it was one of my top listens. But then she finds her stride and creates this. I didn't rate it my first listen. No, I listened again, because I was SURE I missed little details while my own imagination conjured images, froze in horror, gasped for breath fearing to make a peep, possibly blacking out due to the lack of oxygen and then yelling random curses. I really enjoy the two narrator separation. it shifted my energy and mindset. The Buture Games must continue. I am particularly fascinated with the small details, that when caught, start a flurry of wild thoughts causing a lapse in listening. Thank goodness for the 30 sec back button!

Kept my attention

I really enjoyed this book, I was hooked and listened through pretty quickly because I just wanted to listen every chance I got because the story was so good. I needed to know what was coming next constantly and I feel like that desire was never lost as there was something to keep me thinking through the entire story. I definitely recommend both books that have come out so far from Alaina and can’t wait for more!
