Publisher's Summary

Everything on the job is going as expected. The target has been dealt with, and all that's left to do is remove the body. But a surprise is waiting for Quinn and Nate, one that completely changes their mission. Then when the client who gave them their new orders disappears, they find themselves on their own, with a human asset holding a dark secret that several parties are interested in obtaining, by force if necessary. To keep the asset alive, the two cleaners must stay on the run, but even that doesn't guarantee success. Because no matter how closely a secret is guarded, if enough people want it, it won't stay buried forever.

The Quinn series continues at breakneck pace!

What about Scott Brick’s performance did you like?

It seems either people love him or they don't I've said in other reviews of Scott Brick that he is one of my favorites. So his performance was as always outstanding!!

Any additional comments?

Another excellent book by Brett Battles. I thoroughly have enjoyed the whole Jonathan Quinn series and this is another good solid book on par with the others. This book has some good twists to it, enough to logically change the direction the story is going without suspension of belief. It starts with Quinn and Nate going in to clean up a job and instead finding with the female assassin a group of women being held prisoners in a basement containing jail cells. It turns from a clean up to a frame up/cover up. One of the women is "special" and the story changes again. In the meanwhile Helen Cho is kidnapped, Orlando is nearing the end of her pregnancy and the race is on. Get the book, Highly Recommended! If you found this review helpful please indicate so. Thank You.

I wish I could award more than five stars!

Brett Battles began the 10 novel Jonathan Quinn series (the 10 includes Becoming Quinn which was written after Book 4, but is first in chronological order of Quinn's life) with The Cleaner in 2007. Along the way through the series Nate has been added as an assistant and then as a partner. Orlando, the ex-girlfriend of Quinn's now dead teacher has become Quinn's indispensable researcher and life partner.

All of the novels in the Jonathan Quinn series are outstanding action thrillers. The Buried continues the series in the tradition of excellence.

Scott Brick narrates all books in the Quinn series. There are several outstanding narrators of audiobooks, but Scott Brick is simply the very best. Battles and Brick are an unrivaled duo!

VERY, VERY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! But for full enjoyment read Becoming Quinn first followed by The Cleaner and then the other books in order written.

A classic Quinn story

It follows on in the Quinn sequence. By now we know the characters and if we liked them, well we kept on reading / listening. This is a surprisingly believable story and well executed. Scott Brick does what he always does, driving a great pace with a strong cadence. While I didn't care for him as a reader at first, now I know what to expect and he delivers. He also does not waste time playing at different voices, and I for one appreciate that

Brett Battles and Scott Brick always a winner

What did you love best about The Buried?

The entire book

What other book might you compare The Buried to and why?

The Quinn series stands alone all by itself not to be compared. If we had not lost the wonderful Vince Flynn I would probably compare his Mitch Rapp only because I love these two characters.

What does Scott Brick bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

He is Quinn..I would not have gotten this personality.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

I would leave that up to Brett Battles he is batting a thousand so far.

Any additional comments?

Anxiously waiting for #10

chock full of hit-men and other bad guys!

There are so many bad guys after Quinn, it makes you hope to heaven this can't be real. I'd hate to think someone might off me just because someone with money didn't like me. They are after Quinn because he went beyond his job description and rescued the sex-slave girls kept by their target. One of the girls, Danielle, is special; a whole lot of people want her for some super important, unknown-to-Quinn reason.

There's a ton of action which is all wonderful, and we have Nate and Deng and Orlando and Helen Cho too, and even a new personality, Ananka, an assassin. She is a truly delightful character-- "well if I can't kill him, can I at least hurt him a little?" There are other people with just as much, or more, technical backup as Quinn has, so it gets very tense, and holds the excitement to the end, despite the sometimes vaudeville comedy routines occurring. Orlando is in labor the entire book and yet she is still the same tough b** as in all the previous books. This treads a fine line between awesome skills and incredulity; some of her behavior may seem impossible, but then you have to know Orlando.

Quinn seems to be developing his moral side. At first he seemed to never care about the targets or the clients, and to just do his job. He has slowly developed a curiosity that leads him to question the assigned hits, and even his role, although just as cleaner, in them. This makes him much more likable.

Scott Brick is especially good in this book. He has several accents to manage, and lots of people, and he does an outstanding job.

Secret's Lead to Answer's

Another great Brett Battles book following in the spectacular tradition of Johnathan Quinn, Orlando and Nate, cleaning up another scene where a questionable death has occurred that requires secrecy. There is action, suspense and the thrill of wanting to listen until the last chapter is read. Orlando is quite active in this book and is also very pregnant and in her last trimester. Quinn and Nate find that their contract is fulfilled with an exception, there are women who have been left behind in cages except for one. There is an illegal sex trade business happening but these women have been left behind without anyone to free them. There is a definite investigation that will have to be completed. Read the 9th book of this series and you will continue to be hooked. Scott Brick jumps right into the character's persona's and his interpretation of the characters is excellent. Well worth the credit. Anxiously awaiting the next book in this great series.,

Great addition to series!

Captivating from beginning to end. Jonathan and his heroes are great. The listen kept me guessing with all the twist and turns. Would like to see another one in series along with Scott Brick as narrator.
