A new twist on King Arthur

I have read & listened to many many books on King Arthur. This by far was the most entertaining and the most original King Arthur story I've encountered! It has elements of some really old and accurate information that pertains to his story, plus loads of fun bits & bobs that will make you laugh out loud! Don't hesitate on this one, it's a gem!

Absolutely PERFECT!

I’m sure I would have enjoyed the hard copy just as much, but the narration is fabulous. A real treat!

Wonderful

A rollicking adventure that I could not stop listening to. The author does a wonderful job breaking the main narrative up with chapters reveling important facts about each character.

Meh

Lots of good things but I struggled to care or stay awake. I loved the magicians but the large ensemble of characters in this one and a rather oafish main character who didn’t really transform in a meaningful way except he got good at fighting.

Needs editing

The narrator is brilliant, and the writing is brilliant in places. However, the book desperately needs editing for length and continuity. I enjoyed the story in general, but I was disappointed by the ending. It felt like either a chapter was missing or had been replaced by a history lesson.

Exceptional storytelling and wonderful narration. From beginning to end, filled with beautiful prose. Thoroughly enjoyable.

For Camelot

a fun retelling of the King Arthur story. It makes me want to listen to more from the Knights of the Round Table

everyone has a bit of a different take on this story, and this one is a great example. it's a well rounded story and went by too fast. Definitely recommend

Rich, and beautifully woven

This is really a magnificent book that is almost better categorized as literature than “fantasy.” The ending in particular is moving in powerful and, like great literature, resonates across time and place.

My only quibble is that it could’ve been a little bit shorter, and I actually think that would have concentrated the experience and intensified the message. But perhaps he was trying to encompass more stories. I highly recommend this book!

Masterful

Lev develop his characters with distinction, humanity, and a true sense of the archetype of the Arthurian legends. The matter of fact inclusion of the magical realism in the grand story of Arthur works smoothly and effectively, all combining to a wonderful ‘what happened after Arthur died’ tale that is both personal and grand and quite satisfying to those of us who love the Arthurian legends. I savored every minute!
