Ken Harrison’s experiences as a prisoner of war take the listener to the work camps of Singapore, to Thailand “Death Railway” and to the dockyards of Nagasaki. His journey culminates in a visit to the bomb-devastated Hiroshima long before the arrival of the occupation forces.

INTERESTING

The title of the book caught my eye and I did not know what to expect.
The book is very well written and interesting.
I, myself, am a survivor of a women’s concentration camp in the former Dutch East Indies, now Indonesia.
I was 4 years old when my mother and I were interned and 8 years old at the end of the war and we were free.
It is amazing how many things make an impression on a young child.
So many situations similar as described in the book.
I HIGHLY recommend listening.
The author and narrator are outstanding.

Wonderfully crafted remembrance written by a very insightful author. Wonderful narration. Thoroughly enjoyed it.

I wish you'd written other books, this is so well written.
The subject matter is an old one for myself, and I would not have started this book, except for the curiosity of the title. The authors judgment that the Japanese are very brave, soldiers, invites, thoughtful consideration.
