I'm not like the vampires in your books, little girl. I'm not agonizing over my own soul or the ethics of drinking your blood. I don't want saving or to find some great love that will alter my very existence. I'm not a monster. I'm the devil himself, and I have no problem playing that role. I take what I want, and right now, what I want is you. And there's nothing you can do to stop me.

Publisher's Summary
The box has been in Panea's family for generations. Like the women before her, she has no idea what's inside, just that she has sworn to protect it. When the box is accidentally destroyed in a fire, Panea learns the truth behind her oath and like the hope from Pandora's box, Panea's box gives her something of its own.

Great self-contained story
Quality short story. Just enough characters to establish believable relationships, not too many to muddle the waters. It also has a clear focused plot which hints at the right amount of history. This could definitely be the origin story to a larger world.

Good short story, but feels like a prologue
The author manages to cram quite a bit of content into this action packed short story. The story was well written and I liked the narration. While some of the conflict does get wrapped up, it very much feel like it's the first chapter to a larger story.

A Terrific Short Story! 4.5 Exciting Stars 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
This is a well written, well told short story that has an original and interesting storyline. Kayla Krantz created a fascinating and imaginative world. The lead character Panea, the protector of the mysterious box that has been passed down for generations. This story may be short but it packs a punch once that box is left unprotected. No spoilers here but some out of this world things start happening, there is a lot of drama, action, twists, mystery and suspense. Kayla Krantz fits a lot of story into 34 minutes, one I hope she builds on it. Thank you for this great story.
I listened to the Audible edition, Kay Mack did a nice job narrating and telling the story.

Really enjoyed this little story , I think the authors should do a follow up of this ! The narrator was great and the box !!!
