Sheen broke into movies in the 1980s, playing a hoodlum in Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, a young soldier in Platoon, and an ethically compromised trader in Wall Street. But somewhere along the way, despite a successful transition to TV leading man in Spin City and Two and a Half Men, Sheen descended into a vortex of extracurricular activities.

Didn’t hold back- told it like it was- the good the bad the ugly- he certainly did it his way

Entertaining worth listening to

OK story but was expecting more crazy details about the crazy times. At some point I realized there weren't many because he has no memory of them. I noticed that when he can't remember he turns to using drawn out metaphors that don't always fit.

Surprisingly Excellent Listening

When I saw that this book was just under 9 hours, I thought no way will it cover all the interesting things a listener wants to hear. Surprise, surprise! I love that Charlie covered his adolescence, literally from birth and the progression his life took every step of the way. Enjoyed hearing his journey into acting and the decent he went into to where he is now. A well written/audio book filled with great story telling. Bravo to Charlie for his recovery!

Charlie’s Honesty and Courage

I really enjoyed Sheen’s book, his honesty shines through on every page. His brilliant writing and storytelling ability made me feel like I was right there experiencing his journey with him. Listening to it felt the way binge-watching your favorite series does: you just don’t want to stop. I grew up in the same era and I was familiar with many of the places he went that I went as well as the characters he referenced. I just didn’t go down his path. Thank you for sharing your journey, Charlie.

What a great book and an honest story behind it! I hope he gets all the credit in the world for this!

Vivid and honest

I appreciate the candor of Charlie's thoughts, and I hope it healed some old wounds and relationships. Some of the wistful descriptions of various benders make his life seem more like an epic. The reality is that much of it was patterned after the guy on the bench next to Ferris Bueller's sister.

Honest & Vulnerable

I’ve always liked Charlie Sheen. I knew he was fighting demons most of his life, but didn’t realize how much until listening to this. It’s refreshing for him to admit some things he’s done and been through. The book was a good listen.
