Publisher's Summary

Psalms is Israel's hymnal: It is poetry laced with strong theology. In Hebrew, this book is called Tehillim, which means ''Praises". There are 55 psalms addressed to ''the chief musician". [Greek: psalmoi, ''a poem to be sung to a stringed instrument'' or psaltar, for harp or stringed instrument.]

History instructs; law teaches; prophecy announces, rebukes, chastens; morality persuades. Psalms is the medicine and succor for the comfort and encouragement of us all. They are written to the individual - all of us, individually.

Jesus said that the psalms spoke about him (Lk 24:44). Christ's birth, betrayal, agony, death, resurrection, ascension, coming again in glory, and his worldwide reign - all are pictured in inspired vividness. They constitute irrefutable testimony to the divine inspiration of the Scripture.

Chuck Missler is so wonderful, we will miss him.

Chuck has a special way of teaching. You may not like Chucks style of teaching. He is exceedingly knowledgeable and has a grasp of the word that few other ministers have. This causes him to drift into tangents of the history, Origen and ultimately his own personal experience working in various corporations. Chuck is ver witty and not everyone catches his joking ways. I personally LOVE his teaching, he stretches my understanding, he causes me to think dealer about the Word. I don’t agree with all this views or comments nor should anyone who thinks. That his beauty of teaching he makes you think. I than God I stumbled onto his YouTube lessons which lead me to his inspirer Church Smith who is also and extremely accurate and enjoyable preacher. Psalm is a hard book to teach through. Very few preachers even touch it other than for reference. My hats off to Chuck Missler as he goes verse by verse expanding and enlightening the book of Psalms. You would do well to own and spend som time in this book and the book of Genesis which is his masterpiece. Chuck will me missed.

Taught by Author- Not Reading a Book

I learned so much for my research paper. I appreciate that this wasn't a dull reading of a book, but a teaching (in a seminar setting) of each individual psalm. Please NOTE: There are a lot of sections copied and pasted in exactly replicated over and over. Sometimes I thought there was a glitch, but it does repeat whole chunks seamlessly throughout. Particularly at the beginning of each chapter. But it's very hard to tell where the repeats start and end. Listen at .70 speed and he sounds like POTUS Biden. Ha! I listened at 1.25 speed.

Amazing

The depth of knowledge that God has encoded into the psalms and the depth of mining that the great teacher, Chuck Missler, presents is both entertaining and simplified. This should be a staple in the tool belt of every human.

Excellent for the teacher and preacher

This is the 4th of Dr Misslers books that I have listened to recently . I plan to listen to a number of the others. I appreciate the theological and scientific aspects of his teaching. I appreciate his primacy view of God’s Holy Word.
