Hauntingly beautiful.

The Black Velvet Dress is written in a way that I could enjoy. It is reminiscent of a story you hear at a sleepover. The author captured my emotions in a way that I needed to know more & the narrator chosen was perfect. Her voice was so captivatingly beautiful. 4 stars overall.

Perfectly short and creepy!

This was a nice little short palette cleanser of creepiness between my Christmas rom-com books. I really enjoyed this, it had me trying to guess what the character was experiencing… it was good. The narrator's voice was like butter to listen to, smooth clear, charming, and innocent sounding. A perfect pairing for this story. The author chose well because the narrator's voice can really make or break a story. Very well done overall.

Curious Dress

This was a fun listen while getting things done around the house!

Elah’s narrating was again captivating and kept me listening. I wish she could narrate all the stories I listen to if I’m being honest :D

This story was different! The way the dress sounded as if it was a being itself was curious. I liked that feature of the story. I for some reason thought the dress was going to do something dark or sinister. I suppose that left me wanting more but overall this was a fun time and I enjoyed it!

This was such a fun suspenseful little paranormal thriller short story. The writing is beautifully done, the perfect amount of description but not too much showing for a story so short. The plot kept you interested the entire way. I finished it in one sitting. Elah’s narration is also a beautiful complement to the story. Her voice is hauntingly soothing but also adds to the feel of suspense in the book. My love of dark romance was always fueled by my love of horror/suspense/thriller movies/shows and crime shows. This was a great palate cleanser in between romance books!

Paranormal Short Story that had me HOOKED

I listen to audiobooks while I work and this one had me completely hooked that I had to take a break and just listen to the whole thing. Sometimes with audiobooks, it can be hard for me to focus on them because I get distracted but this one had my attention the whole time. I was on the edge of my seat the whole time. Between the writing and the narrator's voice, I felt that I was the main character. Such an amazing job! I definitely will be reading more by J.E. Clarkson! Wow!
