Disappointing

After listening to the first four books in a short period of time, the contrast in style and the few story errors stood out to me. I loved the first four books but this one was more of a soap opera style of drama and speeches. Ross and his lectures were very out of character and the addition of more graphic sexual encounters, made the book feel more like a low budget tv drama than the complex and classy beginnings of the series.

That said, I did still enjoy seeing how the main characters progressed in their lives.

Great story filled with thick emotions

Great storytelling and the reader is fantastic

The moving from one scenario/scene to another is tricky to follow. I found myself backing up as much as a chapter because i thought I missed something

A excellent series.

I love the series, but at times this installment dragged for me. As with all the others, the narration was amazing.

Hard to believe it was written years after the prior book

So hard to believe the author wrote this book about 20 years after the prior book. It is seamless in storyline. Why did he wait to write it? The narrator does a great job with the different voices and dialects. I feel like he's acting instead of just reading. Highly recommend this series from the beginning. And you have to keep listening to them all.

Very nice, but

Excellent story and nicely narrated, but I wish Mr.Hembrough would say Et Cetera instead of Ec cetera. (Cringe)

Book 5 in series - The Adventure Continues!

If this were not historical fiction, one might say it dragged on in spots. But the backdrop of the French Revolution keeps the plot from becoming hum-drum. Koodos to the narration, once again! Top notch series.

Poldark Series ROCKS!!

This fifth book is my favorite thus far!! The narrator is amazing, but the story is the principle mark!! Full of love gained, love lost, action, suspense, and emotional turmoil, made for me an unstoppable listen!!!

Probably the most exciting Poldark book so far!

Loved the action and intrigue in this one! The narrator has gotten better and more fluid with each book. Very enjoyable!
