When Ross Poldark's former beloved gives birth to a son - with his enemy, George Warleggan - Ross must face the pain of losing her all over again.

But soon they discover her cousin has fallen in love with Ross' brother-in-law, and the two families become entangled in surprising new ways. As the rivalry between Ross and George reaches new heights, the families must face an uncertain future.

Filled with intrigue and secrets, and set against the romantic Cornwall backdrop, The Black Moon will pull you into the lives of these two very memorable families.

Wonderful narration!

This addition to the Poldark books brought a maturity to the older characters and added to the depth of history that affected life in Cornwall. I thought the debate within Ross regarding his reflections on responsibility and revolution were thoughtful and provoking. The entire story became a foil of opposite ideas and colliding hypocrisy mixed up in the complexities of human nature and life within the larger events of its existence.

Layers of historical detail and drama.

With the perfectly cast actors in the PBS series, I thought of them whilst reading of Drake and Morwenna’s trials and tribulations. And poor Aunt Agatha! At least Dwight provided some good news to offset the bad news villainy of George Warleggan and Osborne Wentworth.

Poor Morwenna! Poor Drake!

Written very good. Kept me on the edge of my seat. Looking forward to the next book.

Another good read.
