Publisher's Summary

The thrilling conclusion to the New York Times best-selling Lone City trilogy, which began with The Jewel, a book BCCB said "will have fans of Oliver's Delirium, Cass's The Selection, and DeStefano's Wither breathless".

For too long Violet and the people of the outer circles of the Lone City have lived in service of the royalty of the Jewel. But now the secret society known as the Black Key is preparing to seize power.

While Violet knows she is at the center of this rebellion, she has a more personal stake in it - for her sister, Hazel, has been taken by the Duchess of the Lake. Now, after fighting so hard to escape the Jewel, Violet must do everything in her power to return to save not only Hazel but the future of the Lone City.

Fantastic production and story

Amy Ewing has quickly became
a favorite author of mine with The Lone City series. The fantastic plot and character development makes the story unforgettable. Erin Spencer's narration was incredible. I will be looking at all books that she's done. I highly recommend.

best series in a long time

by far one of the best overall series I've read in a long time. The storyline throughout the books has been fascinating, concise, and thoughtful. Unlike other series, where the later books devolve into winding complicated storylines that appear added on as after thoughts or are full of rambling ideas, this trilogy has offered an amazing thoughtful journey for every reader.

Read it overnight!

Wow I've never enjoyed dystopian books like this. As soon as I started reading I couldn't stop so I read it all overnight.
Especially I really liked Erin Spencer's performance she really is the fast and the radiator and I would like to read everything that she had narrated.
One thing I really didn't like was the way Violet acted. I mean because of what she did.. what happened to Lucian.. that kind of thing is exactly what I'm talking about. Was that really necessary?
And here and there Violet's act make me so annoyed.
Other than that I really enjoyed the story and I would like to read this authors other books as well.
Erin Spencer she's the best narrator.

Satisfying Ending

This was a very nice conclusion to a good series. I really liked the protagonist in the story. She was strong without being annoying and bossy. I like how kind she was and the connection she made with the people around her.

There were a few sad parts in the book and a lot of surprises.

WAY TO BE #3

A great conclusion to Violet's saga. I am sure it reminds those who have read the "Hunger Games" series of the same feeling story wise. I think Violet and Katniss should meet for coffee but their little sister's should pay for it LOL. I will read more of Amy Ewings books. Very enjoyable and good ending to tie everything up for the readers

Romantic and fun

I thought this book was a little bit cheesy, as are the rest in the trilogy, but I still enjoyed both the book and series. There were times I could guess what was going to happen long before we reached that point in the story. Overall, this was a fun one to listen to.

An unfortunate heroine

Why can't a heroine retain her brain power when she has emotions? Very sexist. So disappointing after a fantastic first book.

Abrupt ending

I liked this book but feel like the ending left a lot of detail that was probably happening during the rebellion out. The ending felt a little too quick for me.
