In Part Two, we find that Reese is still trying to convince Laura that the two of them are a perfect fit. Laura has a lot of reservations given the situation and wants to make sure that Mira's birth mother isn't going to swoop in and take her away or change her mind.

Finding out what actually happened to the birth mother puts Laura and Reese in an awkward situation, and they need to find a way to work through it together.

Reese wants to marry Laura, but Laura is hesitant and wants to see how things play out before she agrees.
