Publisher's summary

I’m no Prince Charming, and the last thing I want is a Cinderella.

My instructions were simple: Scour the city for a fake fiancée who’s not my type at all. Have her on my jet Monday morning, dressed for a yacht vacation.

I need a woman believable enough to convince a certain client that I’ve changed my playboy ways...yet too annoying to tempt me - no emotional entanglements, thank you very much. This is business only.

If she’s unfazed by my looks and wealth, all the better.

Should be easy. Right?

Apparently not, because my people go and hire Tabitha. My hairdresser.

What were they thinking? Yes, I said annoying, but I didn’t mean her, the most aggravating woman in the world.

Tabitha is sunshiny. She has a pet hamster. She loves Hello Kitty, and she gets under my skin like nobody else.

As if that’s not bad enough, the minute we step on deck, she thinks that certain people on the yacht are up to something shady - based completely on her soap opera knowledge.

She won’t listen when I tell her she’s being ridiculous.

But as the days go by, I find that we’re actually having fun. And our fake kisses are heating up. And suddenly her wild theories aren’t sounding so strange after all...

cute story

out the the series, this is my second favorite. my first favorite is the second book ( call- girl). Both of these stories were so cute and made me feel so warm in my heart. these books are romance with a side of sex. I think the author really found themselves with each book that comes out.

the narrators are perfect! they both sound hot and narrator so well! the characters come alive with their performances. I'm scared to look up their faces because then I won't be able to picture the characters.

if you're wondering if you should read the books out is order.. you can. there are jokes and a few characters sightings you'll miss. but the books focus on each individual story and are not continuation of the last.

overall, love and wish I could experience this book again for the first time. I have one more book to go in the series!

I'm spoiled for other rom/coms now.

I adore this series and I thought Book 3 was the last book, so I was really excited when I saw another one coming. These books are so rich with character and relationship development. And oh yeah, they are absurdly funny. The hallmark of this series is the extreme silliness of the comedy contrasted with the profoundly deep connections developed over the course of the stories. Many writers attempt this but I haven't found one yet who does it better than Annika Martin does. Rarely will you find books so funny and so telling at the same time.

Good romances always involve character evolution and growing deep connections. Ms. Martin doesn't smack you in the face with it though. It's woven into the story, right inside the comedy. Seeds are planted that germinate from page one, then sprout and continue to grow through her skillfully written scenes. Chapters one, four and eighteen are good examples, but really the whole book embodies the building emotion between these two characters.

Tabitha, Tabitha, Tabitha... This character has got to be one of the best this author has ever written. So funky and cute yet sincere and multifaceted, and her speech is perfectly millennial or Gen Z (I'm not quite sure which). She's really more of a CARACATURE than a character—an exaggerated version of someone who hides her hurt with humor. And the more scared she is the sillier she gets. Joking around is her coping mechanism. She quotes Scooby Doo and Bugs Bunny; she likes Hello Kitty, sparkles and soap operas. She's the perfect contrast to Rex's character and just what he needs to pull him out of his darkness. If she were subtle he wouldn't notice her, and you can see how he secretly gets a kick out of her.

Rex is intolerant, repressed and work-obsessed, and his background explains him very well. Tabitha gets him completely. ("People don't really see him"..."I feel him. I always have.") I love how Tabitha can both blatantly aggravate him and mysteriously beguile him at the same time. He's totally charmed by her despite his initial resistance, but once he gives in to it he won't back down. It takes him a while to learn how to balance his life and a relationship but eventually he figures it out.

These two learn from each other. You'll enjoy discovering how and what they learn, but let me just say the fact that Rex adopts some of Tabitha's way of speaking is precious and really symbolic (i.e. "Right?", "Wait, What?", "Heart face").

Honorable mention to Jada and all the other girlfriends from the previous books. Tabitha has really fun, loyal, loving and supportive friends. I can totally see why she considers them family and doesn't want to leave them.

As I've said before IMO Book 1 in this series was the sweetest, Book 2 was the funniest and Book 3 was the most touching. I would call this book the craziest... in a good way. It was an over the top fun ride, but at the same time, something every romance reader is looking for—heartfelt connections.

This is a fantastic story—more incredible comedy and banter, more sexual tension, more painful, more redemption, a mystery, and a delightful tie in to all of our favorite soap operas. The characters are intricate and well defined. It's everything that I've especially come to enjoy about this series. I've already read some of them more than once and without a doubt will do it again.

This series is only gets better...

I LOVED TABY and REX!
This is worth a credit especially if you've been keeping up with the series. However, I need to know, how are these women finding these fine billionaire playboys willing to be reformed? I will say Tabitha did get annoying sometimes, because Rex was so serious - how she could've thought he wasn't serious when he said he wanted to be with her? Other than that question Annika Martin came through and the performances were great.

loved the book but female voice actor is not good

LOVED the book, but the female voice actor performamce is not great and often took me out of the story. her acting and pronunciations are often weird, constantly saying the male main characters name as RAX not REX. it was disappointing.

The Billionaire's Fake Fiancée

PERFORMANCE REVIEW & RATING: First LISTENED June 2021
5++ Outstanding STARS

Jason Clarke & Neva Nevarre brought this already perfect story to life for me, now for the second or third time (I've lost track lol), and made me laugh even harder and swoon for the longest time! I only thought I loved this book until I got ahold of the audio! PERFECT!!

STORY REVIEW & RATING: First READ & REVIEWED in 2020

Rating this book 5 stars just doesn't seem like enough. This story was epically glorious on multiple levels ! The amount of time I spent laughing and smiling while reading this book should be criminal. I extended my reading time of this book to two days just so I could feel total happiness a little bit longer. The world is in crisis right now and Annika Martin has come to the rescue!

Listen, I've been reading Annika's work for a lot of years. I've met her in person. She is one of my all time favorite humans. Don't mistake my praise for this book because I genuinely like the woman because believe me when I say that if this book was any less than absolute perfection, I would tell you. Honestly, it is absolute perfection.

I'm not going to give you plot points on the story because I want every word, every page, every scene, every everything to unfold for you organically and without prejudice. Well, except for the part up there where I told you it's perfect LOL I do however want to touch on one thing. This is a romantic comedy but that's not all it is. This story, especially Rex , was like the metamorphosis of a butterfly. If you pay close attention, the growth and evolvement that Rex goes thru in this story was like watching a butterfly come to life. His grumpy, self-involved self went thru distinct stages of growth that made the story stand out for me. It wasn't just a romance journey it was way more and I hope all of you decide to take this ride because it is just excellent! #TRUST

Pretty good

The author needs to make each book in the series different. The breakups are all the same. Blocking his number is getting tiring!!!

brilliant and witty

Fake Dating
Enemies to Lovers
Sunshine X Grump

Annika Martin does it again with a fantastically funny and heartwarming cast, a compelling storyline, very generous steaminess, and audiobook narrators that just bring the book to life!

Neva Navarre and Jason Clarke are just gorgeous together and I love that they narrate several of Annika Martin's Billionaires of Manhattan series.

This book was just amazing and I think I preferred this one over Most Eligible Billionaire. Rex and Tabitha are a fantastic couple and I adored every twist and turn of this book. Such deep characters and rich backstory interwoven throughout, you really get a feel for these characters and start to root for them together.

Gail Driscoll is just too sassy and strong to go without a mention and I adored her character so much. Not a woman to be trifled with but one who sees Rex and Tabitha for what they truly are.

Funny from beginning to end.

Both narrators are excellent and this story is hilarious and quirky and even after 10 plus hours I didn't want it to end.

Was OK

Male narration kept me listening. The storyline was good. However, some parts were over explained or too descriptive. Missed chapters here and there and didn't miss anything. Very much like a day time soap "Days of our lives".

Fun, but not a great male lead

largely enjoyed, clever premise, good narrators. I do find stories that build on the wealth imbalance between leads as the means to get them to interact not - poor heroine needs money so takes up questionable opportunity to make a lot - moving into old fashioned, poor taste territory- but its not terribley done and author tries to keep a balance of power outside that. The weak points were in the character, or ugly character, traits of male lead. again dislike how we are made to believe that his new experiences and love for heroine change his selfish and unjustiably rude ways. the final part in storyline where he misses a very significant event for a business deal just didn't cut it as a surmountable offence, and really dropped the ball in the storyline and his development, even though it was a plot used for this purpose.
