Publisher's Summary

From New York Times and USA Today best-selling author Kendall Ryan comes a new story in her Room Mate series....

I might be a typical guy, but these last few years, my love life's been anything but. From crazy ex-girlfriends to one night stands who are stage-five clingers, my relationships go bad faster than the milk in your fridge. The only constant has been my best friend Maggie.

Fresh off a bad breakup of her own, I invite Maggie to my guy's skiing weekend knowing she needs an escape from reality. But then something funny starts to happen. I start noticing things about her that I never noticed before.

She's beautiful and doesn't know it, she's funny without even trying, and now she's suddenly single for the first time in forever.

Sharing a hotel room with her proves to be the tipping point in our very platonic friendship. Suddenly I want to put my hands, my mouth, and my ... other parts ... all over her gorgeous body. I want to claim her, make sure no man touches her ever again. But then her groveling ex shows up, and Maggie's torn.

Am I ready to screw up the best relationship I've ever had for a shot at something more?

Every 1001 Dark Nights novella is a standalone story. For new listeners, it's an introduction to an author's world. And for fans, it's a bonus book in the author's series. We hope you'll enjoy each one as much as we do.

Sweet friend to lovers...

I have long been a Kendall Ryan fan and this was a sweet title nugget of a listen. The basis for the story is that of long term friends discovering that they really love each other. Ryan has a great way with prose and timing, plus the narration is perfection. I highly recommend for a nice afternoon of audiobook pleasure!

C blocked by room service

So sweet of a listen. It’s everything you want in a book and then some. Even the fact that it’s short won’t bother you once you start. Best friends can never go wrong.

My favorite in the Roommates series!

There wasn't a whole lot of drama with Sam and Maggie, and as much of an angst addict that I am, the change of pace is one that is both necessary and appreciated. At it's very core, this novella was about the strong bonds of friendship and how it can oftentimes easily slip into love. But how do you risk one for the other? That's the dilemma that the two main characters are faced with. However, who's to say that you can't have the best of both worlds, right? Kendall Ryan may have very well saved the best Roommates story for last, and I enjoyed every single tale of how friends became so much more five times over, and the narrating team of Ava Erickson and Jeremy York more than left me impressed. I've listened to Erickson's narrating skills before, but this was my first time listening to York, and it was more than enough to convince me to jump right in and purchase the Roommates series box set-style audiobook. The Bed Mate was a quick listen, but it was one that stayed with me past the nearly two and a half hours of listening goodness I experienced. Five-plus stars. ♥

Perfection!!

Yes! I loved this! My only complaint is what it was so short! I loved the people... the plot... the captivating storyline! I loved it all. I was entranced and seriously listened from beginning to end in one completely session! The author continues to put out fantastic books that translates perfectly to audio. The narrators, Jeremy York and Ava Erickson were fantastic. I mean, goodness... these narrators were smooth and perfect!

Sam and Maggie were fantastic characters. They both have had a hard time with relationships. Sam just has trouble after trouble with the opposite sex. Maggie’s going through a recent bad break up. They’ve always been able to count on one another. They’ve always been there for each other. Should they risk it all?

This was a wonderful friends to lovers story! It totally pulled me and kept me consumed! For a novella, I can’t believe how much tension and angst I felt reading it! I felt my heart stutter. I laughed and teared up with them. I’ve loved the Roommates series! All the characters have been so relatable! Perfect story Ryan!

The Bed Mate

This is one of the best novellas of the year for me. Friends to lovers, so sweet! Sam and Maggie are the perfect fit for each other. It just takes them a little bit to get out of their heads to see what's right in front of them. Their slow build will pull you in and have you routing for them from the very beginning!! Jeremy and Ava really pull out the chemistry that makes these characters so perfect! They were awesome and the best picks ever for this story!

Quick, sweet, & steamy friends to lovers.

Two best friends have always had a bond that was strong and seemed to go beyond friendship. But neither have acknowledged it. After 8 years, and both newly single, they begin to admit their feelings to themselves and finally each other.

The Bed Mate was everything that I’ve come to expect and love from Kendall Ryan. A quick, friends to lovers romance that packed plenty of sweetness and steam wrapped up in a novella size morsel of audiobook goodness.

Narration by Jeremy York and Ava Erickson was great. Together they brought out the sweet and swoon factor! I only wish it was at least twice as long. 4 stars.
