Publisher's summary

Attorney Sabre Brown has dealt with her share of predators over the years as a child advocate, but the defendant in her latest case is the worst—having targeted vulnerable women and their young daughters for decades. When the predator is abruptly murdered, Sabre’s investigator reluctantly takes the case, but with so many victims, who are now suspects, JP struggles to make progress.

Meanwhile, Sabre’s brother gets tangled in a paternity/custody case, and she has to defend him in court—her worst nightmare. The stunning truth for both cases is buried in the past. Can they dig it up and nail the killer before innocent men are framed for crimes they didn’t commit?

Loved this book. Really enjoy the series and wait anxiously for the next. Wish they came out faster on audible.

Very interesting premise

This is the first one of this series that I have gotten as an audiobook. Most of the characters voices were well done but I found Bob very annoying. He sounded like a cartoon character, as did Angela.
It seemed to start out slowly but got better as it went on. I thought the paternity issue was quite interesting. I especially like these books because I learn something new in every one of them. Generally it is in regard to legal issues.
Eagerly waiting for the next one.

Another well developed story

The Advocate’s Nightmare was a very pleasant listen as far as an interesting storyline that is satisfactorily resolved. The ending is not easily solved and the characters and twists are not confusing to follow. I enjoyed hearing more about characters that have been in each of the Advocate books.
This is the first Advocate book that I have “read” as an audio book. I will go back to reading the books on my Kindle in the future. I didn’t like the voices given to many of the characters by the reader. The narration was wonderfully done but characters could use improvement. That’s my personal taste - the next audio reader may find them exactly right for their taste.

Female Sleuth mystery

Having read and enjoyed several books in The Advocate Series, I was eager to read the 14th in the series. The author, Teresa Burrell, knows how to keep a reader's interest. The pages practically turned themselves. And Burrell did a great job of keeping the culprit's (and there were plenty of possibilities!) identity hidden until the end. It was certainly a 'wow-I-didn't-see-that-coming' moment! The story moves quickly and the author brings satisfactory closure to several situations in the book. For readers who enjoy female sleuth mysteries, the Advocate series is a must-read. The narrator, John Bell, does an excellent job of bringing the characters to life in this book. I listened to a complimentary copy of the audiobook and was not required to write a review. The opinions are my own.

Every book keeps getting better

I've either read or listened to (or both!) every book in this series and the stories are never repetitive. This book provides an interesting twist with Sabre's own brother needing her expertise and support to sort out the issue of how he can be a father of a young if he hadn't seen a woman in many years. The narration is excellent and the plot doesn't disappoint.
