Beth Montgomery seems to have the perfect life: a beautiful house in the hills above Los Angeles, a handsome, ambitious husband, and plans of starting a family. So it doesn't occur to her to worry when the news breaks of a quadruple homicide across town, a botched drug deal that leaves an undercover officer among the dead. Beth certainly would never think to tie the murders to the sudden reappearance in her life of wild, sexy Cassie Ogilvy, the estranged best friend she hasn't seen since they were college roommates.

Good story
Good story. Witness protection doesn’t always work, and when it doesn’t, people die. This is my second trip with Teresa Burrell, and I’m not sorry I took the time. While it wasn’t as tense as the books I usually read, there was enough there to hold my interest well. Again, I’ll read more of her as I bump into them. 4 stars.

Great thriller on a great series
This latest book in Teresa Burrell's Advocate's series is narrated by John Bell. Her heroin Attorney Sabre Brown receives a call from her brother who has been in Witness Protection for the last 7 years. He believes someone knows where he is and that they are trying to kill him. Apparently he has been moved around the country from place to place trying to stay safe and hidden. After the latest incident he is on the run. He doesn't trust those protecting him any longer. So Sabre has to juggle her defence of children in juvenile court as well as find and protect her brother. Since no one can know where he is, including Sabre, she must use her Nancy Drew like Skills and her trusty Private Investigator J.P. to find where her brother Ron is hiding. Unfortunatly She is not the only person looking for Ron. Apparently every where he has been moved people connected to his case have been found murdered. Some in law enforcement believe Ron is the killer, Sabre must save her brother and prove his innocence without getting killed herself. This is by far the most thrilleresque book in the series. All the books have been great mysteries with danger and intrigue but this one takes Sabre and crew to a new level. I enjoyed listening to this book and narrator John Bell did a good job telling the stories. This is the first time a Male narrator has been used in this series, and maybe that did raise the level of intrigue in the listening, but I have to say I prefer hearing a female voice narrating this series. Overall the author was kept me interested in the characters and I am ready for the next book where there might be a little romance in store for Sabre Brown. I will have to wait and see.
This book was given to me as a gift for an honest review all six of Teresa Burrell's Advocate's series are available at Audible.com.

An entertaining book with lots of action
The Advocate’s Felony follows the characters from the Advocate series, but this book is a bit different. Instead of focusing on the courtroom and the children in the lawyer’s cases, this book centers around Sabre’s brother who has been in witness protection. The story has a lot of action and twists and turns along with interesting characters and settings.
There is a new male narrator for this book, and while the old female narrator was not my favorite, it did take a bit of getting use to the new voice. He does a good job with reading the story and giving the characters voices, though I feel like he does tend to make them sound a bit old.
I received a complimentary copy of this audiobook. This is my honest and voluntary review.

Gritty advocate work
This book gets personal for Sabre and her brother as they must avoid both the FBI and gang members.
Sabre and her detective must first find her brother, then protect him and her as well.
This book if exciting from start to finish and you don't find out who is actually guilty until the end of the book. The narration is outstanding.
This book was provided free of charge with the expectation of an honest review.

Liked it but missed the children
The Advocate’s Felony uses a different setting than the earlier books in the series. Instead of the California courtroom and Sabre’s usual world of legal investigation, this book is set in Montana in winter. It brought back her brother, Ron, who had been gone for 7 years in the Witness Protection Program, and was a very personal case. It is full of JPisms and continues Sabre and JP’s relationship. As much as I like Ron, I did miss the cases involving the children. John Bell brought the story to life although his narration seemed a little flat on occasion. Altogether, this was an enjoyable listening experience.

It's a felony not to listen to this book!!
Wow, I have listened to book one up to book six in this series and even through I enjoy the fun with the children and the courtroom time this one is by far my favourite (which didn't really have much of either.) The story started with a bang and didn't let up until the end and took you on a roller coaster ride across the country. Like all the other books in this series you were never sure who you should trust, with all the twist and turns. Sabre was out of her element , trying to save her brother but it was fun learning with her.
This was the first time the author has used a male narrator to read the book and even through it seemed strange hearing Sabre being spoken by a man to start with, it soon felt right as he was very good.
