Story
There are few characters in literature more iconic than J. M. Barrie's Peter Pan, the Boy Who Wouldn't Grow Up. Originally introduced in 1902 in another Barrie novel (The Little White Bird), Peter's story was expanded as a standalone novel in 1911 and since then has been memorably adapted for the movies, for television, and for stage.
Now, actress Lily Collins (The Blind Side, The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones) brings new, youthful energy to Peter's magical adventures.

While Bambi grows and matures, he sees that the creatures of the forest are constantly forced to come to terms with their own mortality, for death comes unexpectedly and frequently. At times, the thundering third leg of “He” is heard, killing the unwary and exposed. Bambi learns the vital tools to survive in a world that is perpetually hostile.

Publisher's Summary
Once upon a time, there was a talking, walking, dancing piece of wood. His name was Pinocchio, the marionette created from an enchanted log by Tuscan woodcarver Geppetto.
The miraculous puppet dreams of being a real boy, but he has a mischievous streak. Pinocchio fights, kicks, lies, and runs away before Geppetto can teach him the lessons of life.
Challenged by an escalating series of misadventures, Pinocchio must learn to be selfless, respectful, and honest in order to fulfill his wishes and lose his strings. A childhood favorite, Pinocchio endures as a rite of passage and illustrates the difficulties of growing up, staying true to oneself, and being kind to others.
Revised edition: Previously published as The Adventures of Pinocchio, this edition of The Adventures of Pinocchio (AmazonClassics Edition) includes editorial revisions.

A masterpiece
This book should be read by every single kid in the world. It’s interesting and fun. It’s full of twists and turns. It contains a great moral message for young generations. The narrator does a superb job in portraying the different characters. And, to state the obvious, the book is much better than the Disney movie.
The moral lesson of Pinocchio’s story is incredible: the value of obedience to one’s parents (or the consequences of the lack thereof), the intricate world of moral choices, the consequences of bad company, and the value of learning from past mistakes. A beautiful story exploring the drama of human freedom, the make up of the learning experience and the possibility, at last, of redemption, restoration and transformation.

Wonderful, Wonderful
this is a wonderful story about Pinocchio much better than the Disney movie and more detailed and enjoyable. It'll make you laugh at the many mistakes Pinocchio marionette makes. and how hard he works at the end of the book to become a real boy. this book is a treasure and should be enjoyed by Young and all the life. The narration by Simon Vance one of the best narrators in the industry is top rate and not to be missed the voice inflections are wonderful and worth every moment.

So much fun!
This selection came up in my suggested reads and I laughed. Pinocchio? Really? I’m not that far from 50... but then I remembered that original classic stories can be very different than the Disney versions. This did NOT disappoint!! This original version is delightfully trippy and a tad sinister. What made it was the narrator. He’s fantastic!!! Several times my kids and husband have come running to see what I’m laughing about and shake their heads... Pinocchio.
I wish the story could go on forever, it’s such a great escape from the real world in its current condition. If you need a break, I highly recommend this.

Oh Pinocchio!
The Adventures of Pinocchio is a timeless classic. I've seen the various movies over the years and enjoyed them. Nothing compares to the book though!
Pinocchio was relatable to the insights of small children who seem to repeatedly run headlong into trouble. My 10-year-old son and 7-year-old daughter enjoyed listening to Pinocchio's mishaps and regrets with me. We frequently chatted about his mistakes and what he should have done instead.
This audiobook made a great bedtime story for us all. It took us only a week to get through because we didn't want to stop listening! I have no doubt we will enjoy it again in the future.
