Fascinating

This book provides valuable parenting skills for ALL parents. Treating children with empathic love and dignity is actually appropriate in every circumstance. Sarah insights and practicality are compassionate and helpful. I have a premature child with sensory integration issues who manifested so many of these difficulties and it was validating to hear that I had not been ‘soft’ as so many others had accused me of. He is now 17 and predominantly happy and functional in society despite his quirkiness. Thank you for this excellent read!

Informative but the narration is extremely hard work

I don’t believe that this book translate very well into an audiobook.
It is hugely informative and poses some great scenarios, potential consequences and ways to manage.
The book is read without expression. After three hours I can no longer listen to the book due to the monotony of the tone. Whilst it is a great book I would suggest a paper copy.

Good Book - Terrible Audio Book

This Book, is both useful and insightful. however it needs to be professionally read, sorry author. there are too many cross references, the audio is very confusing and incoherent, lots of just words and then cross referencing. "anxiety, see anxious disorder" - you can't your on an audio book. Book needs to be adapted for audio. tiring listening, very monotonous. buy the book

Reality at its best

Sometimes it’s hard to comprehend what life with a looked after or adoptive child will be like, and often we live with an idea of a grateful, loving child being in our care. This book is what reality can look like. A perfect guide to understanding the traumatic life of children and how we can help make that better. Sarah Naish is a superstar ⭐️

Great book

Interesting listening to Sarah explain why children behave in the way they do when coming from and into foster care/adoption

all parents should be therapeutic parents

This book was fantastic, and I can understand why it's so often spoken about online. But while listening, it struck me that it's actually for all parents. There will always be rudeness, rivalry, delay tactics ... and the aporoach taught in this book feels so much more compassionate and certainly more effective.

interesting but monotone

an interesting book with lots of helpful tips that will be useful. it does however sound very 'read' making it harder to listen to.
