very underwhelming

I was excited to listen to this book as it came recommended to me. It soon became apparent that the author had only homeschooled a short time as only a few examples were used over and over. When looking for a book on a certain subject I expect the author to be an expert I do not feel that it the case for this author. She never really explained her process, just the successes. It was very underwhelming for me.

WOW! My head is spinning with ideas for my kids

We know MORE is out there for our children....more than just sitting in a classroom, more than recess, more than homework!! We know we can give our kids a Real World education through travel and everyday experiences. We are excited to start this new chapter of our lives and even more excited about how this style of educating may change the trajectory of our children’s lives!! Read (or listen) The 5 Hour School Week....you will be glad you did!!

Not What I Hoped For

Being mildly familiar with the 4 Hour Work Week by Tom Ferris I thought this book would help me understand how I could apply these principles to a real homeschooling setting to get kids on board for focused, efficient studies. Instead it was a loveletter to homeschooling in general and if I'm being brutally honest, a proud mom just taking the opportunity to brag about her homeschooling gains and successes. While I am truly happy for her and her fortunate children, I didn't learn much.

great book

the info in this book is great but the narrator was very monotone. also she says you don't have to travel like they do but doesn't offer how to make that work.

On the fence about homeschooling? This is for you!

This is a great book for anyone on the fence about homeschooling or who is considering this form or education for their kids. However for someone who is already homeschooling this book may seem a bit redundant to your existing life. There were a few parts of the book that gave me something to consider but overall it's more of a "here's the reason to homeschool" and if you truly want a book to open someone's eyes to homeschooling try the book "Weapons of mass instruction."

Major inspo

Loved listening to this and look forward to listening again whenever I need inspiration. We’ve always believed in a hands on education and it was great to envision their lifestyle as our own. I enjoy following them on Instagram as well!

Good concept

I love the concept of it all but I don’t feel like it’s as easy for most families to have the life experience they have in the book . I would have liked a few more resource suggestions but all in all it was a nice story.
