purely Amazing!

I absolutely loved this book and couldn't stop listening to it. As a homeschool momma of four this has encouraged me so much, not only to read to my children more but also to keep on our homeschool journey. I'm so excited to dive into new and amazing books woth my kiddos. Thank you for this amazing tool and guide.

Like visiting with a wise friend

Sarah Mackenzie has greatly changed how we approach reading and I am very thankful. I loved reading until school made it torture. I want my kids to really love reading, just for fun and she addresses this in her book in a way that encourages me as a parent to do what is really best for our kids. I love that she is reading her book to us, because I cannot imagine having someone else's voice carrying the same enthusiasm she has on this topic. My favorite thing about this book is she makes this reading aloud as a family seem as easy as any other part of the day. Sometimes it is a challenge, sometimes you have to make changes, sometimes we feel funny doing it, but in the end it is about making memories and enjoying the moments with our kids. She has this tone in her voice that is warm and inviting and left me wanting to chat with her for hours. Anyone who wants their kids to love to read, or is just looking to learn to love reading again themselves, should listen to this book.

Encouraging for raising reader!

Loved the encouragement and tools given to help our family learn to love reading. it was very relatable and gave me the encouragement I need to resd aloud to my family.

Start with the ORIGINAL Read Aloud Handbook

I didn’t realize this was a “book about the book” essentially. I didn’t realize “Read Aloud Handbook” was different from the Read Aloud Family. I’ve still loved this book, and felt inspired by it, but it would have made so much more sense to me if I started with the original Read Aloud Handbook (which I’m reading now).

I enjoyed every minute of this book and can’t wait to get our collection of books and start reading aloud with my kids!

Love, love, love this book!!! As a Homeschool family that does read-alouds in our family, we do know how important they are. This book has helped me realize just how important!! We will definitely be following a more pro-active read-aloud schedule in our family. I learned of so many books we have never heard about from Sarah's wonderful recommendations in this book. This book has inspired me so much, I was sad this audiobook was over!! (Isn't that the sign of a great book, Sarah? 😉)
