Welcome to the world of Whispering Bay romance, where hot heroes and smart heroines collide to find their happily-ever-afters!

Allie Grant doesn't believe in second chances. She does, however, believe in the power of a permanent paycheck. So when a tipster reports that the soon-to-be demolished senior center in her hometown is haunted, Allie hightails it to Whispering Bay to get the scoop that could secure her dream job at Florida! magazine. What she finds, though, is far scarier than any ghost. Cue her ex-boyfriend, sexy construction foreman Tom Donalan.

When Tom catches Allie poking around his construction site, he quickly realizes his former high school flame is just as feisty as ever. And, heaven help him, her irresistible, mile-high legs still take his breath away. But Tom isn't about to delay the building's demolition because of a silly ghost story.

With neither of the stubborn exes backing down from their opposing positions, sparks fly. And, underneath the surface, the fire of their old attraction burns as hot as ever. When strange things start happening with increasing frequency around town, even a tough skeptic like Tom is tested. The question is, can Allie and Tom stop fighting long enough to get to the bottom of Whispering Bay's ghost problem - and the more important matter of mending their broken hearts?

Super cute story. Lots of smiles and giggles as you follow the characters. I enjoyed the narrator, she’s so expressive.

Totally Enjoyable

I thought it was really good but Tom made me mad a couple of times with things he said or did and it made me like him a little less and ruined the love story for me just a bit. Sometimes I couldn't help but wonder what his feelings really were for his ex. Was he still in love with her? Did he really wish they were still married? It wouldn't have surprised me. SPOILER. He was kidding although I wouldn't have been too shocked if she said yes and he did it but anyway he asked his ex if she was asking him for sex and sounded like he was up for it. He actually told Allie that he didn't regret for one minute that he married Lauren. Ouch. I didn't think that comment was needed in a romance. His marriage to Lauren was what broke Allie's heart so his comment was a somewhat cruel if you ask me. END SPOILER. I like when exes are on good terms in a romance but I don't care for when they're that close. For me, these books are romantic fantasies and I want the h to be no. 1 in his life. Not sharing that spotlight.

However, this is a really good book and I really liked the narrator. I can't wait for Lauren's book because I liked her and it wasn't her fault that Tom was somewhat callous when he talked about her to Allie.

Really good but...

Beautiful romance without focusing too intense on bedroom scenes. I read the follow-up on this book first, but found you can read them seperate without missing too much.
