worthy but long

superbly written and superbly performed. An interesting story, but moves along fairly slowly, if it wasn't for the quality of the performance I would have passed on the rest of it as it seemed to just drag at times. However, well worth a listen.

Surprisingly absorbing !

It was very interesting story if true it is a part of history not many know .

Fabulous story and narration.

This is one of the best books I have listened to! The narration is wonderful and the story line so intruiging.

An excellent book

I enjoyed the story very much. I highly recommend it. I am not much on a lot of words sorry.

Historical fiction at its best

The first few minutes had me thinking this wasn’t my kind of book, but very soon I could NOT stop listening! It was great fun to GOOGLE the main characters and discover just how extraordinary their lives were. My opinion of Lady Randolph Churchill was frankly, judgmental at first, but because of the beautifully presented story, much of which was verified by fact, I came to respect and admire her. I have always enjoyed books about Sir Winston Churchill, but now after learning about his mother, I know how his extraordinary life began. This was one incredible book about one extraordinary woman who produced arguably, the most distinguished man of the 20th Century. I truly enjoyed this book and highly recommend it. The narrator performed this book so beautifully, she deserves an Audie, IMHO. Definitely worth a credit and your time!

The best of perfomance.

performances narrator gave a superb performance. One could hear the gender characters in every line. The topic was well developed but one would have liked to know more of Lady Churchill after her husband died.

An interesting story

As is true of much historical fiction, liberties are taken with real events and embellishments are made to tell a good story. I’d encourage you to look up the real stories for yourself before taking anything as gospel from a work of fiction. The ending is extremely rushed and incomplete, as next to nothing is told of Jennie’s life after Randolph’s death. Still, this tale is well-told, for what it is.

Interesting story, excellent narration

Jenner Jerome Churchill was an amazing woman. The story is made even more interesting because of who her son Winston became.

Very interesting Story

I enjoyed the story and the way it took the listener back through various points in Lady Churchill's life establishing a clearer look at her overall actions. I recommend it.

I loved this book. Couldn't wait to fined out what Jennie Jerome would do next!
