Great!

Very sweet Christmas romance with well developed characters and an interesting story. Narration was perfect and really brought these characters to life.

I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review. The fact that I was gifted this book had no influence over my opinion of it.

A Sweet Christmas Romance

This is a sweet Christmas romance that I quite enjoyed listening to. I think the narrator did an excellent job although the male voices were not as different as I would have liked she still did a great job. For a nice clean and sweet romance you can't beat this story. It has a bit of mystery too. I would recommend this book to my friends.

Sweet but a little corny listen

First and foremost, the narration was great. The story started off good but then went in a bit of a cornball direction. With that said, it was still a sweet listen. It would be great for a plane ride - easy and soothing and short.

Short and sweet

I loved the characters and storyline from the beginning. Every relationship has ups and downs but the true test is how they end up and although they both had tests they both ended up in the right place. In each other's arms. A Dickens on Main story in the heart of Texas. What a concept? But it was written well and the narrator was perfect. The emotions came through loud and clear. I got this ARC via audiobook boom and this is my voluntary review,

Nice Christmas Story

Any additional comments?

This was a lovely Christmas short story. There is a weekend Dickens festival in a small town in Texas where Rachel meets Charlie, a reporter forced to cover the festival. They spend the time together and Charlie gets caught up in Rachel's enthusiasm -- guess what happens!. This romantic story has Christian undertones but they are not overbearing. The recording quality sounded slightly hollow. I was given a free copy of this Audiobook in exchange for an honest review.

A Christmas Romance You Can Enjoy All Year

I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

It's Christmas in Texas, and while that may not mean blizzards and snow everywhere, it can mean magic and romance. Rachel describes herself as a "Texas hill country girl," but a few paragraphs of this story will prove she's much more than that. She has made a quiet pilgrimage to a small town that celebrates Christmas in a special way. But her vacation seems doomed from the start when there's a mixup with her hotel room reservation. A year earlier, she had reserved the room with the view onto Main Street so she can watch the parade from the comfort of her balcony. But the room has been inadvertently reserved to a newspaper reporter from Houston. He amicably agrees to switch rooms with her and sees in her immediately someone who can brighten what would have been a rather dull nondescript assignment. She gets his room; he gets to observe the Dickens Christmas festival through her eyes.

This is a book filled with Christmas ambiance and atmosphere. The festival includes opportunities to dress in victorian costume, and Rachel and Charlie find they're attracted to one another and to the celebration. But Rachel finds herself drawing back at one point. Is there a misunderstanding? Or is Charlie less of a believer and more of a common thief than he's willing to admit? This is good, clean Christian romance without shrill moralizing or heavy-handed preaching. I don't often read books in this genre, but I'm glad I was given the opportunity to read this one.

Kate Tyler's narration is a gift you'll want to give yourself all year. Her diction and cadence is a lovely magic you won't want to miss. She doesn't go overboard with accents, and her performance really is flawless. I don't mean to geek out, but her audio levels are consistently excellent throughout the book, and there are no distracting breath noises or other glitches. She has mastered audio editing with the same ability as her actual narration.

Feel Good Short Story

I received this audiobook free for an honest review. This story was adorable. I almost wish it was longer. It was great to listen to something so heart-felt, pure, and beautiful. God's true love was shared by both characters and tested in their short relationship. The author's walk with the Lord was demonstrated in the excellent way she passed God's message through her story. The narrator was perfect for this story. She brought the characters to life.
