Publisher's summary

Alejandra is a survivor. So far, she's lived through abduction, a near drowning, and being lost in an alien forest. She thought things were finally starting to go her way when the most intense, grumpy, and insanely tempting man she's ever seen rescues her from a monster. But sadly, that's just when everything gets even more complicated.

Auzed has his orders. He is to find the missing human and deliver her to Tremanta. Getting caught trespassing in Sauven territory was not part of the plan. Neither was pretending to be the sexy beauty's fiancé to protect her from forced marriage to a Sauven stranger . . . but here they are.

Their relationship was supposed to be fake. But it's not long before they start to wonder if true love and a happily ever after is possible for two star-crossed opposites. And if it is . . . just how far are they willing to go to claim it?

Contains mature themes.

Entertaining

The storyline was amazing. This is one of my favorites of this genre that I have been addicted to for 15 years. Sometimes a narrator can ruin a perfectly good story, but Mr Dexter had me hooked by the middle of the first chapter. This author needs to have a bigger portfolio. She’s excellent

One of my favorites!

One of my favorites in the Clecanian series. It took a while to warm up to Auzed, but the storyline kept me wondering what was going to happen up until the last couple of chapters. Another amazing performance, too!

Love it down!!!

I didn’t have high hopes as Luka and Verrako’s mates were irksome… they complained and whined too much, it was a little hard but Alejandra was fun and a breath of fresh air! I thought this was pretty good! Don’t get me wrong the whole series so far was great! Just those two books together back to back can be tiring! lol overall! Loved it!

Welcome to The Marriage Games! Auz & Alex

“I’m not a bionic woman”
Book 4 regains the spark I got listening to book 1, as impulsive, pop-culture loving Latina Alejandra shakes up rule following Auzed/Zed. This book has more action and humor, providing a better ratio of camp to story. There are very occasional F💣, a little LBGTQ positivity, and growly good times narrated with Stephen Dexter’s deliciously dark voice. There’s slightly more nooky than the last two books, although you still have to wait until halfway before the naughty times start (mouthy at 5hrs, fingery “oh my!” at 6rs, finally! at 7, and growly greatness at 9j.

“Kevin’s a girl?!”
I appreciate the level of thought in creating a world with a variety of aliens (some with tails, some with horns, etc) and different cultures which all elevate women in unique ways. This book features the Sauvens, aliens with tails whose males compete in a kinder type of Hunger Games, battling each other in games of physical and mental strength to prove their worth for marriage. The Tremantian version of a marriage mart also makes a return, so it helps if you’ve heard book 1 for a more detailed explanation of that ritual. The little ways the author flips gender norms is fun too, like with the men being the ones to glam up or wear revealing clothes to attract mates.

“Your internal compass always points towards hero, doesn’t it?”
I am thankful that the author creates conflict that comes from external sources more than from him being an alpha-hole or her insecurity rushing to misjudge. Auzed may be a stick in the mud rule follower, but it comes from a place of honor. So, on top of the fun and the heat, this book rocks the heart as well. Bravo!
