Holy shizz balls and cheese on a cracker!! Rina Kent is going to getting forwarded some hefty cardiologist and neurologist bills on my behalf because she’s just dishing out heart palpitation after heart attack after stroke with each book! Tempted by Deception was AH-MAY-ZIIIINNNG!! We got more backstory and if I loved Daddy Adrian before I’m hopeless devoted for now and forever! Rina Kent masterfully peels back layer after layer from the story and characters and answers questions we’ve been begging to be answered only to leave us with more questions going into the third and final book. I cannot wait for that freaking ride! LOVED!!

I read this, but on AUDIO! Holy smokes!! Jason Clarke and Desiree Ketchum are magnificent. I cannot with their performances. They bring this story to life so perfectly. Jason will forever be my Adrian and the emotion that Desiree endures into Lia is just...WOW. I’m dying and dreading the last book on audio because I know it’s going to be one HELL of a BOOK HANGOVER!! Highly Recommend! MUST LISTEN!! 5 stars and then some.

Wait til May 6, 2021, when audible is scheduled to put the final audiobook in the catalog, but for those who can’t wait you can certainly download to your Kindle or just order the paper version now!!! I love having the narrators bring the book to life, plus it’s easier for me while I’m cooking, cleaning, etc. around the house....

So in the meantime without spoiling any of the storylines, let me just say this second book by the end manage to catch us up to where the first book started out! Which may sound weird or backwards but if you read the first it actually makes sense.......And trust me, you will still be eager for the third and final book! 😀 The sexy and hot love scenes continue. 😘😜 Plus the plot twists and characters do not disappoint. 👍🏽 Just when I thought I was confused, everything fell into place.....

I have the same feelings as I did for the characters as I did in the first book, Lia is a broken but still fighting heroine and Adrian is a demanding but hot anti-hero. I can’t wait to finish the series....💕💕😍

Well written and steamy. Full of twists and turns always keeping you on the edge of your seat. Once you start listening it’s impossible to stop. Also adore the narrators who capture the characters and their emotions so perfectly.
Can’t wait for book 3.

This book is so different I live mafia romance books but this book has so many twist and turns that it keeps you so interested from beginning to end I totally can wait for the 3rd book ( please please hurry ) it’s a must try I promise you will love it

Wow. Wow wow wow!!!

Yep. That’s all I could say as soon as this book ended...WOW!! Love to hate Adrian. Hate to love him, too! ..but knowing the backstory from the 1st book, leaves me with the hate/love for the guy! And the twist plot of Lea vs. Winter! Yep: WOW!! While I’m waiting for the 3rd book, Imm just gonna hav ta re-read the 1st. And then this 2nd one. Fantastic job to Clarke & Ketchum. They are perfect narrators for this series. Ms. Kent rocks out another rollercoaster ride once again. I think this one is my favourite of al her duets!

So Dark

Second book is beginning to bring clarity to unanswered questions from first book. The depth of emotions elicited by Adrian and Lea is palpable. Both narrators did a wonderful job with characters. On to book 3!

Yes. Worth the credit.

This book is a ride I was not expecting after the first book. I was satisfied with first, but not blown away. Interested enough to move to part two. This is exactly what you are expecting from a dark mafia romance with an S&M undertone. The characters have depth with mental illness(es) - some verbalized and others are obvious from the behaviors. They are both morally gray (closer to black) with different responses to that reality. I spent the entirety of this book frustrated with the decisions of these characters, hoping they would separate and rooting for them to succeed, often simultaneously.

The actual mystery of a plot is good. I was not expecting all of the excitement out of this series. It’s a dark mafia romantic thriller.

This series is so good that I have a book hangover. I was up listening until 4:00am and I had to go to work. More of the mystery is starting to unfold. My heart hurt for Lia when she went over to Adrian as he is speaking with a beautiful woman. Clearly it was not just an innocent conversation. The bodyguard was unable to stop her. Adrian acted like he did not know her even when his future father-in-law questioned him. At that moment, I would have loved to hurt Adrian. He is slowly breaking her. We also find out more about Winter. This mafia book has so many twists and turns that you don't know what will happen next. I am looking forward to book 3 to see how everything ends. Jason Clarke and Desireé Ketchum did a great job with the narration.

I was so pumped, at the end of book 1, to start book 2. The way book one finished, I couldn’t wait to find out what happened next. However, book
2 starts as a flashback, from Five years before. It’s not a brief FB, either. The entire book 2 IS THE FLASHBACK. It ends where book one also ends( pretty close, anyway). I found myself getting very impatient and I struggled to get through book two. I even stopped listening and listened to two new releases before returning to it. Maybe it’s just me but the way the author handled book two, totally bummed me out.

I’m ready for book three and am hoping that the last book is more in line with book 1. Here’s hoping 🤞🤞🤞

Wow, just wow…. the rollercoaster of mind-games continues…..I knew I would have another cliffy hanging over my head but still couldn’t resist diving into Book 2 of the Deception series.

I am going to say this even before I get to book 3 which is the conclusion to this trilogy, but I think this is one of the best dark romance storylines, character built, plot I have ever read/listened to. This may be Rina Kent´s best series yet. It is mysterious, darkly erotic, intense, thrilling and all these secrets and twist n turns have me on the edge of my seat.

The second book gives us more of a backstory of how Adrian and Lia met, flashbacks to their childhoods and how Lia became Winter as that ties in with the storyline from book one “Vow of Deception”.

Adrian & Lia are both complicated characters full of dark secrets that run deep, and this makes the storyline so interesting and had my heart pumping with anxiety the whole time because you are trying to guess what is going to happen and when you think you are getting somewhere you get thrown off again, which might leave you confused but you constantly want to know what is happening next.

Their characters also frustrate me, their relationship is complex to say the least and it´s this constant push and pull between them. Adrian is powerful being high up in the Russian Mafia. Our Anti-Hero is ruthless and this dominant. He is a possessive alphahole, who seems to show no emotion or feelings from Lia´s point of view and in return Adrian believes Lia despises him because of the way he treats her, and she defies him any way she can. Let´s talk about the steam level in this book, phew their sexual tension and chemistry is off the roof. So, I am giving 5 flames for this one.
Rina Kent certainly got all the intended feelings, emotions, and reactions out of me with this storyline.

Thankfully part 3 Consumed by Deception is only a few weeks away.

Also, the audio performances by Desiree Ketchum and Jason Clarke are brilliant. Desiree drives most of the narration, but both are deliciously talented with all that emotion and different layers in it. I really enjoyed listening to this performance. Well, we all love Jason´s growly voice and he is just the best Russian Alpha Anti-Hero and again for me does one of the best female voices. Desiree is becoming one of my favourites, l loved her performance, for me, her performance of Adrian, especially with the Russian accent was spot on. I wouldn’t mind listening to more of them as an audio pairing.

I loved it!

Tempted By Deception (Deception Trilogy #2) goes back to when Adrian and Lia first meet. The storyline is dark and thrilling, with exciting twists and turns I didn’t see coming! There’s more mystery, more heat, and more of Adrian’s darkness. I loved it!

This is without a doubt some of this authors most twisted work to date. This is the kind of dark romance that rolls you up in knots and sinks into your bones with all the twists and turns. There's nothing I can say since this is book two of a trilogy but let me assure you the countdown to book 3 is well and truly on! I volunteered to listen and review a complimentary copy of this.
