Tired storyline

I’m so tired of these ‘bad seed’ plots in books. It has been done again and again and it’s alway leans towards the nature born bad theory. Ugh! Not a fan of this book! Also tired of completely implausible or ridiculous ‘twists’!!

The truth is it is too long

This story went on and on and on......... I felt like speeding to the end just to find out who was the killer, knowing I wouldn't miss much in the meantime. The main character, Rachel, for being a Psychologist, was slow on the uptake and had a hard time figuring out the people near her. The narrator did a reasonable job and I have to admit there was a surprise or two at the end.

Narration only redeeming quality

As for the story, I don’t have a clue! Blah-blah-blah… Confusing, convoluted. I couldn’t finish it. I tried a few times but gave up. Thankfully, I did not waste a credit, only $9.93.

Sooo GOOD!

I could not put this book down! Very suspenseful. Just when you think you’re going to figure it all out there’s another surprise. I was afraid towards the end of the book that all the questions I had and loose ends weren’t going to be answered but everything was wrapped up perfectly. The narrator was awesome. This will be one of my all time favorite books.

HAS IT ALL!

So many twists and turns-none of which are left unresolved!
Just when you think it's pretty much over and you know it was a very good audio book...it isn't, in fact it gets even better! This is one you don't want to miss!

Just when I thought I had figured it all out

What a great story! There were several twists and turns that kept me on my toes. Without spoiling anything, just when I thought I had figured everything out, another twist occurred. Narration was excellent!

Good thriller to keep you guessing

I really enjoyed this book. The author did a good job of keeping me guessing, although I figured it out before she actually revealed it, but it was very well written and has a great flow. The narrator did an excellent job as well.

Thoroughly good!

The writer allows the reader to empathise with many of the characters. Who is telling the story? Who is to be believed? Right to the end, you're left wondering... Who is telling the truth?

Mixed

I found it an interesting, if somewhat unlikely story.

It was clever and kept me wanting to read on, but a tale that rather pushed the bounds of reality to the edge. However, it was well conceived and the continuity was excellent. It offered many options as to who 'dunnit', and why. The psychological implications were excellent.

What did agitate me was that in the moments of the story where fear should have shaken the reader, it sort of didn't. An air of predictability surrounded those sections. (I am prepared to accept that, as a reader of many thrillers, it may just be that I am conditioned to them so I might be losing the impact).

The most annoying part of the tale was the depiction of the lead character who acts and thinks rather stupidly a lot of the time. Sadly, this is seemingly a common trait with modern thrillers .

Here is a woman who is a trained psychotherapist yet ploughs through the story reacting in the most ridiculous ways. I found myself shouting at her (how sad) when she did, or reacted to things no normal human being would if faced with the evidence that she was. Or putting herself in situations that only a simpleton would.
In her voyage of detection and discovery she failed to ask obvious questions and ignored the answers to the good ones. Likewise her appalling level of assessing the characters in her life, if she were real, would certainly prevent me from using her services.

The narration was excellent and, overall, have given 4-stars as it's worth the read.

Run of the Mill Thriller

This book would have been more believable if the main character had not been a psychotherapist, her response to situations was silly a trained therapist would not have behaved that way. This spoilt it for me so I struggled to really engage in the story. Writing this review I am struggling to remember the plot and characters thats how much it stood out in my mind.

Ridiculous

I am willing to suspend disbelief for the purpose of fiction works, but to accept the events of this book one would have to suspend disbelief at about 30,000 feet.
