Publisher's summary
Penguin presents the audiobook edition of Tell Me A Secret by Jane Fallon, read by Claire Sturgess.
Holly is feeling on top of the world - celebrating a new promotion and dying to pop the champagne with her best friend Roz. But is Holly just imagining things, or is Roz - who supported her every step of the way - not as happy for her as she should be?
Something about Roz's behaviour doesn't add up. And soon Holly has the sneaking suspicion that there's a target on her back. Has someone been playing dirty in a war Holly didn't know she was fighting? And is Roz more tangled up in this than she'll admit?
Only one woman can be left standing - but will the best woman win?

At long last a heroine my age
I've always loved chicklit, but in the last few years I have felt I was growing too old. (Excepting as always - Bridget Jones)
In comes "Tell me a Secret" - fast paced, a real life heroine full of all the hangups I can sympathise with and fast paced unpredictable action. Loved it!

"ALEXA - NARRATE ME A STORY"
I was excited to get a new book by Jane Fallon - but am afraid this was disappointing.
Bitchy women double crossing and lying to each other. V similar to Faking Friends.
The oddest thing though was the narration - I'm surprised this passed through any kind of editing, as it sounded like Alexa had been instructed to read the book. Little variation in the few moments of drama and an overall flat portrayal of the characters, although they were all quite one dimensional.
Am about 2/3 of the way through and think I'll save the rest for when I can't get to sleep.
Will just put this down to an off day and hope the next book is back to form.

Not one of her best
This felt like an episode of a soap story. Not enough plot for a whole book which would explain why the author kept adding in unnecessary detail about the minutiae of the characters day, to try and drag the book out. I finished it because it was an easy listen on my commute and the narrator was good, but the actual story could have played out in 2 or 3 chapters and did not need to be a whole book.

Switched it off after a minute!
The narrators voice sounded like she was reading a news article on the radio!! So annoying and a shame as I couldn’t listen to it a minute longer

Absolutely horrendous narration
The narration on this audio book is actually horrendous. It’s totally unlistenable. It sounds like a robot on speed. Is it a computer? I’ve tried adjusting the speed but it’s no good. I can’t listen to it at all. Total waste of money and I’m gutted as I love Jane Fallons books.

Trouble in the workplace! !
This was a really good read. I've read all of this author's books and she never fails to disappoint. It was a change from the usual chic-lit stories that focus on romantic relationships, affairs and jealously over a man or a womean. It was really about trouble in the workplace and was an unusual story and really interesting. Holly was a very likeable character and her friend Dee was hysterical!! Roz was vile and I thought that the reason that she was being so vile as revealed near the end of the book, was totally unacceptable and did not justify the things that she did to her close friend and work colleague and I think she got off with it too lightly. Problems we have in our life do not give us license to be horrible to other people. I would have given 5 stars for the story if Roz had had to pay more for the consequences for her behaviour
Apart from that, I really enjoyed the book and will look forward to the author's next one.
The narrator was really good too.

Another classic Jane Fallon. I enjoyed listening to this as is always the case with her books.
Fun, friendship and frivolity.

A
I have read several Jane Fallon books now and have enjoyed them in varying degrees,. This one was OK, entertaining and well read (if the narrator a bit too fast) with good reflection of the book's character's tones. But it was also predictable. Not too many surprises, .just confirmation of what you picked up early on. Maybe i didnt enjoy it as much because ive had the unfortunate experience of working with too many office bitches over the years. At least this was a divergence from what appears to be a commom theme in Fallon's books, that being of revenge.

Mindless read - easy listening
An okay mindless read. Not too much depth to the characters or storyline. The twists aren’t cliffhangers but never the less I listened all the way through whilst working because the story didn’t need much concentration.

Loved the story line but I found the narrator hard to relate to at first. Narration at first was like listening to a news reader put me off. But once I qweeked the speed Iit was better.

Boring.
Found it rather unexciting. Women being jealous and nasty. Trying to outdo each other. Bit like real life I suppose. Doesn't make it a good book.

Jane Fallon is the best
There is not one book of Jane Fallon's that I don't adore. From the moment I read my first one, I went hunting down everything she'd written and I bought the lot. This book lives up to it. Amazing

Predictable storyline and the narrator took overly large breaths between words which was very distracting.
