Publisher's Summary

Newly divorced from his greedy and deceptive first wife, Dallas McCray is convinced he wants a sweet country girl like his sister-in-law. So why is he lusting after the new veterinarian in town, striking New Jersey transplant Annie DeSimone?

Also divorced, Annie yearns to leave her difficult past behind and start a new life in beautiful Colorado. Sparks fly between her and the handsome Dallas, and happiness finally seems within reach. But attraction and emotion aren't always enough...especially when a man has vowed never to make the same mistake twice.

Wonderful story

This audiobook is about a woman whose first marriage was marred and ended in severe abuse, and the oldest son of three in the brothers who own a vast ranch. He is newly divorced from a devious, selfish woman when he meets Annie, the new vet. Dallas, the hero, falls instantly for her and things heat up rapidly. Unfortunately, his ex-wife walks in on them when they are, um, heavily involved at his house and this sets off her trying to make their lives miserable. Dallas has trust issues that complicate everything and when Annie's ex gets out on parole danger is added to the mix. Great ending! Looking forward to the next book!

I liked the first book and absolutely hated this book. Instalove gone completely wrong.

1. The H finds out that the h lied to her first husband about taking the pill (which his first wife did to him) and dropped her like a hot potato.

2. Then he gets mad when others show interest.

3. He then gets her into his study, he wants to kiss her and she says no but he does it anyway. A few minutes later, he states that he would never force another... but he just did!

4. She figures out why he dumped her but he is completely unwilling to hear her out.

5. She goes home and her evil ex is there, who then strips her top off and hits her, ties her up and takes off with her.

6. Meanwhile our H gets a reality check from his sister in law, finds that she is missing, sees her phone and figures out who her ex is and calls, then negotiates to get her back. He gets her back, they talk and live HEA!

The last 2.5 hours of the book is all about a stupid miscommunication! Him whining to family about the terrible thing she did but refusing to talk to them or her. Of the 2000 books I think I have read, this is the worst H!

So cringey

This one did not age well. When a guy meets a woman for the first time, spends all of dinner staring at her chest, gives her a ride home, insists on walking her to her door “manners demands it”, demands a nightcap once he gets her to the door, then demands a kiss and to have her kiss him back since she didn’t have anything to drink. Yuck. Couldn’t make it past the first few chapters.

Worth listening to

Not near as good as Steel Brothers Saga book series but it will do while waiting for the next release from that series.

Book 2in the series.

While the story line is compelling, the writing can be frustrating at times. I feel like it’s forced at times.

I understand Dallas has a hard time with his first wife, but his treatment of Annie is pretty crappy. I liked her character and her strength to start her life over.

Again, some awkward writing, and the narrator is average, but I will continue with the series.

Worst narration ever, horrible dialog

This story was ok but the narrator was terrible. The story include a lot of sex, some very bad accents and poor stereotypes of a gentleman cowboy and an Italian Jersey girl and their 2 week romance. The eldest McCray was written as a over indulgent, self righteous idiot. Not worth the time listening to it.
