Publisher's Summary

Gabe Mercer

Singer, rockstar, asshole.

He's the one thing from my past I've tried to forget.

He is famous now. A rock god.

I'm happy being a nobody...and I wanted to keep it that way.

I thought I was succeeding until I came face-to face with him, once more.

Harper Jackson

Frosty, unimpressed, sexy as sin.

She made my past bearable, kept me sane long enough to drag myself out of the hell I lived in. I repaid her by breaking her heart and leaving her behind.

But now, she's back and, even though I know I should stay away from her, I can't.

The problem is by forcing Harper to become part of my life, it might just get one of us killed.

An all-new contemporary rockstar romance series from the author who brought you The Midnight Pack!

A sexy Rockstar Romance!🎸🔥

This is a sweet, hot, second chances rockstar romance. This one ticked all my boxes and I absolutely loved the chemistry and passion better Gabe and Harper. Thomas Locklear brought these amazing characters to life with his expressive and versatile narration. The audio delivery was seamlessly, smooth and flawless.
Overall, I definitely recommend this if you like an opposites attract, steamy romance with one bad boy Rockstar and his chance to get back the one that got away.

Great Story!💜

I really enjoyed this second chance rockstar romance. Great storyline and amazing characters. Sex, romance and angst, this book has it all. The narration was absolutely fantastic.
This is book 1 and although it has an HEA, there’s a tiny cliffhanger leading to book 2.
I recommend this book.

Gabe and Harper

The two main characters in this story Gabe and Harper met when he was twelve and she was ten they became close friends who grew up supporting each other. Gabe's mother died when he was four years old after which his father turned into an abusive drunk. Harper's father died leaving her mother almost destitute but Harper always knew she was loved, her home became Gabe's safe place where he would go when his father abused him and as they grew older the feelings they shared became deeper but they never put their feelings into words.

When Gabe was 18 his rock group was discovered and from then on his life takes a different path but they remain close then a few weeks after Harper's 18th birthday something happens which drives a huge wedge between them and changes the course of both their lives. Gabe goes on to become a larger than life bad boy rockstar but he's never forgotten Harper, for year's he's hoped that one day she'll forgive him and that they can be together.

After eight years Harper finally goes to the club owned by Gabe and his best friend and bandmate Seth, he mistakenly thinks she's come looking for him. After all this time he goes to her but he's high, he's drunk and what he says to her drives her away. But this time he's not giving up and pursues her until she agrees to spend time with him and give them both a chance to not only regain what they lost but to see where it leads.

What happens next is an emotional, sometimes traumatic story full of love and pain, incredible chemistry and steam as Gabe tries to regain the trust he lost and she tries to get over past hurts. The chemistry between these two is palpable, neither can keep their hands off the other.

Whilst at times I felt for Harper I also understood Gabe’s actions and how much he loved and needed her but didn’t know the best way to win her back. Their past hurts are still raw, he’s damaged, his scars are still bleeding whilst she has difficulty believing in his love, will he hurt her again? Then just when things are starting to come together something terrible happens and Harper ends up in the hospital making Gabe doubt his ability to keep her safe.

This is an incredible story, the characters are wonderfully well-drawn, I was so engaged in their story which made me laugh but also made me cry, I loved Gabe although at times I wanted to slap him, why did he make decisions which affect them both but not explain them to Harper? That said I wanted Harper to admit the depth of her feelings, thankfully in the end, she did.

There is so much more I could say about this book but I'm not going to, what I will say is I loved it, I loved the camaraderie between the band-mates and the love shared by Harper and Gabe. I was totally wrung out by the end of this book but I didn't want it to end. Thankfully I've already downloaded the next book which is Seth's Story.

The narration of this book by the wonderfully talented Thomas Locklear lifted this incredible story to a whole new level, each character is unique and the depth of emotion he manages to imbue into each character couldn't be improved upon.

Awesome Story & Narration🎧 Gripping & Intense!

Wow, hold on tight because L. Ann takes you on one bumpy and wild emotional rollercoaster ride in her first book of the “Forgotten Legacy” series. It is great to see another side of her creative mind as she steps away from paranormal into this contemporary rockstar romance with some suspense. The story grabbed my attention right from the start and held it straight to the end. The characters are realistic and complex, they are easy to relate to and connect with. Harper Jackson and her Mom moved into the apartment across from Gabe Mercer and his Dad when she was eight years old. She recognized the sadness in Gabe the first time they met and she tried to hug it out of him which surprised him. The two became instant friends and their friendship continued to grow morphing into more over the years. Life was not easy for either of them especially Gabe growing up with a prick of a father who abused him both mentally and physically, using him as a punching bag. Harper helped him as much as she could. Gabe and his friends start a band up, with Gabe as the lead singer, they get noticed while playing a gig and are a manager signs them up to a new record label. While things are going well for Gabe but then he does the unthinkable and breaks Harpers heart. He thought he was doing her a favor but her life imploded and so did her plans for college. His career takes off but he always loved her and knowing Harper loved him he was bidding his time for him to get her back. Sounds arrogant right, well that is exactly what he has become, an arrogant yet famous rockstar. But he is persistent and does not give up. Can she forgive him, can they mend their relationship? There is never a dull moment in this book, the story is cleverly plotted with plenty of drama, angst, twists and turns, thrilling and suspenseful moments, heartbreaking and emotional moments and hot romance. I liked how the story was told, with some chapters taking us back in time to give us glimpses of their younger days and building up to show how they got to where they were in the present day. L. Ann, thank you for another awesome story, I am looking forward to the next book in the series, Seth’s story.

🎧📚🎧 And for the awesome narration, Thomas Locklear is a talented narrator and versatile voice artist. He did an amazing job portraying the characters, bringing them to life and humanizing them with their emotions and personality. He covered the voices for all the characters, performed both the male and female roles giving each their own distinct voice making it easy to follow along and tell who is who. He is a true chameleon when it comes to performing the character roles, taking each role and making it his own. He rocked Gabe’s role and perfected Harper’s as well. He is an entertaining storyteller and a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for another fantastic listen🎧

Rockstar with a troubled past

I love hearing how people overcome a troubled past. Gabe grew up with a hard upbringing and came out with a heart that beats for the love of his life. A love he never thought he’d have another chance in life with. I loved everything about their journey. Great story that included a great supporting family.

Holy alpha rock star! This book is smokin' hot!

Holy alpha bad boy! This book was awesome! I was first blown away by the narration. Talk about a seductive voice. Thomas Locklear was the perfect voice to be represent Gabe. I felt like he was really him. He made me believe it! And then when he did the voice for Harper I had to do some research and make sure they didn't just leave off the female narrator's name. Nope. It was him. That blew me away. The way he could be two completely different characters and make me believe it was two different narrators shows his raw talent. Now, about the story. This story was every what rock star romance fan wants and needs. Gabe is that tortured rock star who everyone thinks is just a trouble maker but really his heart is sweet, his life has forced him to harden. Harper is his saving grace. He hurt her in the past and now is his chance to make it right. Throw in super steamy scenes, drama, and suspense and it's the perfect story that will pull you in, grip you, and make you never want to leave. I didn't want it to end! I am so excited this is a series. A must read! If you can listen, I highly suggest it. Thomas Locklear brought this story to life!

Oh that voice.... swoon

I read Tattoo Memories when it came out abs I loved it. When asked to review the audio version, I jumped at the chance. It was an amazing read. What takes an amazing read to out of this world fantastic? A extremely talented narrator that’s what! Seriously Thomas Locklear knocked it out of the freaking park with this book! His deep sexy voice is perfections for the bad boy and his ability to have all pitches and accents was phenomenal!! This amazing second chance romance is completely elevated by the narration! It’s angsty, deep and so hot hot hot with the sexy talk and totally worth the read or listen! It does contain several triggers so if you have them beware but even reading it a second time just makes me love this book more!

Oh wow, what a great book! I love the narration, it's perfect for this story.
I loved the characters and how it is written from the different points of view. Gabe and Harper's story keeps you wanting more and it's full of twists and turns. And, wait till you get to the scene with the strawberries... Talk about hot!
Brilliantly written, would highly recommend. Can't wait for book two.

I WISH I COULD GIVE THIS BOOK MORE THAN 5 STARS.

I want to start by saying I LOVED this book by L. Ann and Narrated by Thomas Locklear. The interlinking of and will hooked and more.
You shouldn’t like Gabe and you may not in the beginning but stick with him because he will dive straight into your heart for sure alongside Harper. This is a very hot and steamy love story with lashings of heart stopping moments.

Harper is the only one who truly knows Gabe the guy who looked after her as they grew up, he was her everything after meeting as children they built a strong connection of friendship until one night when they gave in to their desire for each other which left them feeling very different regards to their future resulting in Gabe leaving Harper behind.

Forgotten Legacy is the bad boy rock band that Gabe’s becomes part of and he obviously he's hot and sexy so attracts the usual die-hard fans who follow the bands every move. Unfortunately, there is someone out for revenge to hurt Gabe and the worst way is to hurt him is to hurt those he loves like Harper and that just what they try to do.
L. Ann will keep you guessing right up until the end and just when you think you know who it is you have to rethink everything all over again which is genius because it keeps you hooked until the end which is what every book lover wants out of a book, you will not be disappointed.
.
Fast forward years later and Gabe wants Harper to give him a second chance, the front man of the forgotten legacy, has realised the band isn't the only thing he wants in life, it’s not enough anymore and it's Harper he wants.
Gabe will not stop until Harper realises he is what’s missing from her life too! But he has a lot to prove.
Certain chapters will take you back to important aspects that allows understanding of their story and why they both deserve a second chance.

This is already a great new series, and I can’t wait to have the rest in my ears. Thomas Locklear is a new narrator to me, and my only disappointment is why it took me so long to have this narrator in my life?!

Hurry I need more of this series in my life! xxxxx

A Movie in your mind

This is my first Audible experience. I was not really interested in listening, when I love reading. I had read this amazing book already and thought what could a narrator possibly do that would endear me to listen to books in the future.
Well, Thomas Locklear reading the amazing L.Ann's work brought a whole new experience to my book world. Wow!
Voice gave me a movie in my mind!
Thank you L.Ann , your stories make people feel. Thank you Thomas for adding your voice .

Book 1 Standalone

Wow I really enjoyed this book. It was really long and that makes me nervous because I always assume that means the author probably goes on for pages describing a room or inner dialogue but it wasn’t that way at all. This book held my interest the entire time. I loved the characters. The narration was great. I actually went back to check that there was only one narrator because I thought he did such a good female voice. I definitely recommend this book and I can’t wait for the next one in the series.

it has it all.

a huge thank you to Thomas Locklear for giving this book to me. it ticks every boxes.. drama, passion, love, friendship, 2nd chances, family.. Locklear's performance was out of this world and he knows very well how brutally honest i am when commenting a book or a performance (friends or not friends). he switches from one voice to another effortlessly. his ability to hold on to an unnatural voice tone for entire chapters is outstanding. brilliant job. i can't wait to read book no.2

So good.

Perfect second chance Rockstar romance it’s so good I only finished it a day ago and I’m itching to listen again. I have a backlog of 25 books to listen and review in the next few weeks so I can’t listen again #thestruggleisreal

Harper Jackson has tried for years to forget Gabe Mercer but it’s been hard as being a Rock Star he’s always in the media.
Gabe has never forgot Harper and how she saved him many times growing up together but now he wants her back in his life and he will do whatever it takes to achieve it.
Loved this book so much and the flashbacks to Gabes childhood brought one or two tears to my eyes ,when he treated Harper the way he did I wanted to hate him but just couldn’t.
I have never listened anything by L. Ann or the narrator Thomas Locklear but will be on the look out for more from both

Troubled Rockstar

Growing up Gabe Mercer has a hard life. Harper was the light to his life. He made choices that drove her away. But never forgot her. Now to win her back. Trouble seems to follow him making him wonder if he truly can have her. The narrator did a wonderful job of bringing this story to life.

Amazing Rocker romance

I loved this hard core rocker romance. This is the first in the Forgotten Legacy series by L Ann and it completely blew me away. A storyline that takes you back and forth between the past and present in both the main characters (Gabe and Harper) lives - it's filled with heartbreak and redemption. Sacrifice and survival. Narration by Locklear is amazing - the things he can do with his voice amaze me! He not only changes pitch and tone with most characters but at times I felt there was dual narration - he's that good at bringing characters to life. Ending on a cliffhanger I hope to get the opportunity to read / listen to more on the tragic lives that make up the band Forgotten Legacy and how they will find their peace and HEA...
Oh - and I also loved the songs at the beginning of each chapter - so great!

This book was given to me for free at my request and I provided this voluntary review.

Yes to Tattooed Memories

I loved listening to Thomas Locklear, wow can that mans voice melt you.

This is my first L Ann book and I was not disappointed. The book and the voice of Thomas Locklear go together both are hot.,

A story of second chances and hidden pain. Harper and Gabe knew each other as children and grow up together. They both go different directions and fate takes her turn and brings them together. Can the pain of the past be over come.

As well as the romance there are plenty of twists and turns in this book. Also some plenty of steamy moments between the characters.
