I deserve a break, and I deserve to have some fun, not that I've ever let myself enjoy much of either.

When Tank, a bad boy every girl dreams about having at least once, starts chasing me, I decide to do something for myself for a change. What I didn't expect was to fall for him quite so hard. Nor was I ready for the secrets he keeps and how they could destroy my whole family, the one thing I've spent my whole life preventing.

Ended to quick

It was good until the last 2 chapters and then it was finished. Everyone was one big happy family 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️ and just wrong 😑

Tank & Kim

Tank & Kim’s story felt like instant love with not much interaction between the couple. He is the VP of an outlaw MC and she is a successful journalist who underwent a horrible experience which left her with PTSD at the beginning of the story, then nothing more is said about her experience only her mothers issues. Aiden’s voice is like butter. Short epilogue and HEA.

Tank and Kim

Tank is a super hot, alpha male who is a killer but has a good heart. Never thought I’d say that but Ms Lena Bourne knows how to write characters who we should be bothered by but it’s hard to hate them, we grow to care for them. This book had drama, suspense, romance and so much excitement. I couldn’t put this book down. Great story!

My heart has never hurt so much for the bad guy

The book started draggy for me. After listening to Book 1 in the series, I had high expectations for this book. It’s definitely different. The narration and writing for Tank was so surreal. I felt his pain in my heart and soul. If you’re like me and need to listen to all books in a series, make sure not to miss this one.

Loved it !! this story. the narrator is so fantastic it's like your really there!! After listening to this story,. I totally enjoyed reading this book. It’s well written and the characters were uniquely fantastic. I would suggest this book to my friends that like this sort of genera. this was a good book. The narrator was great.

Entertaining

I enjoyed this one and loved getting Tank's story after having met him in the first book. This is the 2nd in the series and it can be read as a standalone though. Tank has a thing for redheads and he ends up meeting one at the place where he volunteers. Kim is there to help out her brother, who lives there as he has down syndrome. Her brother loves Tank which shows that he is a good guy, though he is in an MC that is on the wrong side of the law and doesn't shy away from killing people, though they don't like/want to kill innocents. Kim and Tank have immediate spark and chemistry and Tank isn't thinking this is really going to turn into something serious so he lets Kim make her assumptions about him and doesn't correct any but helps buy into them with what he does and that being a biker is just a hobby for him. Kim is an investigative journalist that is dealing with the aftermath of what happened on her last trip and article. Things are more complicated than either realize as well as Kim's stepfather is running for Sherriff and as he isn't in the pocket of any of the MC's and more on the straight and narrow, righteous path, the other MC's want him gone and out of running and have tasked Devil's Nightmare with making that happen and Tank is given that job. They are also still dealing with the last of Lizard's MC and taking them out and in the meantime he is also spending time with Kim. He doesn't realize that the Sherriff and Kim is connected, not until he has developed feelings for Kim and is in one heck of a dilemma that he now has to figure out if he wants any chance of anything real with Kim. There were a few twists here and there and the story was interesting and entertaining. I enjoyed getting to see more Cross and Roxie as well as some of the other secondary characters and am excited to see who's getting their story next.
The narrators did a good job with the characters and story and bringing them to life.

This book seemed to progress with a pretty natural pace then, it just ended. Therefore, what could have been a good book, ended up being an Ok book. It’s too short to be credit worthy, in my consumer opinion, but maybe a fair sale price purchase. ( I’m really considering e-mailing the author and suggesting her characters be educated about the necessity of safe sex, in the modern world)

Trigger Warning for the R-word…

I listened to this on audible and it kept me listening until the end. I would give it 3.8 stars. I enjoyed the book but nothing made me feel like I LOVED it. Also, the R word really triggered me and I hate that they use it but I get it goes with the character and scene.

Like enough to keep going through the series. On to book 3.

The storyline

The characters were well thought out and the story held my interest. The readers did a great job!

Did not like the female narrator.

The female narrator sounded like AI. The stories so far have been good. I always like that male narrator. Would’ve given all five stars but the female narrator’s voice sounded robotic.
