Publisher's summary

Tank: I always had a thing for redheads, but between their wildness and fiery temper, I kept getting burned. Now that I'm VP of my motorcycle club, my wild and crazy days are over. But I lost none of my taste for redheads. So when Kim, the first redhead I've ever known who can keep her fire hidden behind a cool though slightly uptight exterior, appears in my life, the only sensible thing to do is go after her. Catch her, tame her, and maybe even keep her. She's not resisting, either. She wants to be caught.

There's only one problem. I'm an outlaw biker, a killer wanted in five states, and she's the sheriff's daughter. They say love conquers all, but this might be the exception that proves the rule.

Kim: I've always been the good girl. From taking care of my mother and my brother with Down syndrome after my dad died, to becoming an internationally renowned investigative journalist by the age of 32. Now, I'm burned out and living at home again, taking care of my frail mother while my stepdad campaigns for county sheriff. I deserve a break, and I deserve to have some fun, not that I've ever let myself enjoy much of either.

When Tank, a bad boy every girl dreams about having at least once, starts chasing me, I decide to do something for myself for a change. What I didn't expect was to fall for him quite so hard. Nor was I ready for the secrets he keeps and how they could destroy my whole family, the one thing I've spent my whole life preventing.

Tank and Kim

Tank is a super hot, alpha male who is a killer but has a good heart. Never thought I’d say that but Ms Lena Bourne knows how to write characters who we should be bothered by but it’s hard to hate them, we grow to care for them. This book had drama, suspense, romance and so much excitement. I couldn’t put this book down. Great story!

🌻Ended too abruptly!🌻

🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻V from Kansas🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻

This book seemed to progress with a pretty natural pace then, it just ended. Therefore, what could have been a good book, ended up being an Ok book. It’s too short to be credit worthy, in my consumer opinion, but maybe a fair sale price purchase. ( I’m really considering e-mailing the author and suggesting her characters be educated about the necessity of safe sex, in the modern world)

Trigger Warning for the R-word…

I listened to this on audible and it kept me listening until the end. I would give it 3.8 stars. I enjoyed the book but nothing made me feel like I LOVED it. Also, the R word really triggered me and I hate that they use it but I get it goes with the character and scene.

Like enough to keep going through the series. On to book 3.

Not my favorite.

One of the biggest glaring issues in this book for me is they set up the leading lady to be someone who deals with PTSD and nightmares at the beginning of the book and then it's just forgotten? It's not brought up again that I can recall a single time. The thing causing the PTSD was quite traumatic and was perpetrated by a group of criminals/terrorist/gang and that makes the ending of the book a little harder to believe IMO. Like she's literally been traumatized by violent men and we're expected to believe she has next to no inner turmoil of falling in love with a violent man? Love that just came out of nowhere, btw, it wasn't necessarily the insta-love trope but it was so random when they said "I love you" to each other that I had to actually rewind the chapter to make sure I didn't miss something? There was barely a relationship established and it just didn't feel real at all. Also, if you're sensitive to ableist slurs, this is going to be a skip for you. The leading lady has a younger brother with down syndrome and he's referred to by the MC (the one we're supposed to be rooting for, the leads of the dang series) multiple times as being the r-word. Narrators did great.

Torture

While the story was good, listening to the female narrator was pure torture. Wanted to throw in the towel numerous times... I hope she isn’t doing remaining titles in series.
