i like this genre. a little dated, a little stilted, but now and then there is a real gem and, if you are drawn to this style, it is worth the listen.

The narration is uneven and changes in quality and possibly even narrator though out. Often it sounds as if the narrators started the project in a studio but then got tired and phoned the rest in. Sound quality goes from decent to horrible in mid story in a few places. The stories are good. I wish someone thought as much of them as I did and provided a decent quality project.

Great stories but the narration... not so much

What did you like best about this story?

    The stories were great.

How did the narrator detract from the book?

The performance was beyond dreadful. There actually were several different narrators, and it would not be fait to diss them all. One of them had several stories assigned to him and his voice was like nails on a chalk board. The rhythm of his voice was bizarre -- he cant possibly actually speak like that, nor surely does he think that the authors intended their work to sound like that. It was AWFUL.

Need to correct the production problems in the sound quality and this would be a great audio product.

    Great Stories, Terrible Production

the narration of these classic stories is very spotty, some are very good but a good many are horrible. stumbling over words, flat monotone deliveries a speak and spell could do better than some of the readers.

    good stories bad narration
