A Horus Heresy audiobook anthology

When Horus rebelled against the Emperor, the ensuing civil war nearly destroyed the Imperium. War raged across galaxy, resulting in a struggle where death was the only victor.

Listen to it because:

Events from the Great Crusade and the early days of the Heresy are explored in a series of short stories covering the Space Wolves, Word Bearers, World Eaters, Dark Angels, Sisters of Silence, Custodian Guard...and the Emperor himself in a unique tale that will you have questioning all your assumptions about the Master of Mankind.

When Horus the Warmaster rebelled against the Emperor, the ensuing civil war nearly destroyed the Imperium. War raged across galaxy, pitting Astartes against their battle-brothers in a struggle where death was the only victor. But long before that, the Legions struggled with their identities and the demands of the Great Crusade. From battles with alien invaders to conflicts within a Legion, and even dealing with a wayward primarch, these stories show the battles fought as the Great Crusade draws to a close and the Horus Heresy begins....

The last church, wolf at the door, and the world eater(i forget it's title) are just amazing. The other stories were good too, but those three were some of the best short stories from black library I heard.

fantastic book.

Some of the audio is very quiet during dialog, made it difficult to listen to without headphones, but the story and quality overall was great!

Great listen, when the dialog can be heard

The emotion in every word made me feel like I was in the the story myself.

absolutely amazing!

There are some treasures in here. Particularly the last church. There is unfortunately a Dark Angels story to slog through, but as I said, great stories for the most part.

Great short stories, well, for the most part

the last church is easily one of my favorite pieces of lore from the entire 40K universe. it really showcases how much of a benevolent dick the emperor of mankind truly is. Also it would be very interesting to see an alternate history where angron never receives the nails.

fun to get the short stories that fill in the gaps

The performances for The Voice and After De'shea were just fantastic. Enjoyed those especially.

Great Performances

Wolf At The Door and The Voice were fantastic and added so much depth to the universe for me. The others were hit or miss, some felt like dead ends and some felt like over simplification of scenes. There was continuity though, the good guys aren't that good. Which is classic WH40k.

Hit or Miss

I loved the smaller insights in to each legions backstory. It provided much more context for the previous books of the series.

Depth of Character development

awesome book

The Sisters of Silence story was good but the last two were great. Revelation, 2nd to last, ended different than I expected but you need to hear it if you are a 40k or HH fan. I was so sure he would convert.

Angron's tale was perfect for someone like me who knew little about him or the World Eaters. I was sure Khan would die. A great tale to end the Anthology.

The Space Wolves story was so sad I had to take a break.

I wish most of these were full novels.
