Publisher's summary

Fill your ears with something different! This is the complete series, 10 books, over 400,000 words of high action fantasy, filled with deadly dragons, relentless evildoers, daring heroes, uncanny magic, wild characters, and more! A thrill ride for listeners of all ages! Over 53 hours of listening enjoyment!

Apocalypse is coming to a world of monsters and men.

A restless liege, Nath Dragon, is bored with his reign and hungry for adventure. So when the fairy empress, Lotuus, entices him to undertake a great mission - a quest to uncover the secrets of his birth by locating the mother he's never known - Nath leaps at the opportunity. But the evil sprite's motives are far from noble. And while the Dragon King's attention is elsewhere, a new threat is rising that could tear the world of Nalzambor to pieces.

A monstrous new breed of dragon has emerged from the darkness, their numbers growing so rapidly they will soon be unstoppable. More insect than dragon, these wurmers; have no love for their winged cousins. And in concert with the gargantuan Titans, dragonkind's ancient enemy, they could violently transform the world forever. Suddenly Nath, his magic sword Fang, his lifelong friend Brenwar, and a small band of allies are the last hope for preventing the catastrophe that could annihilate entire races and leave Nalzambor in ruins. But first, the Dragon King will have to make the ultimate sacrifice and shed his scales to do battle in human form.

Dragons reign supreme in the world of Nalzambor, a breathtaking fantasy realm of giants, dwarves, elves, ogres, orcs, monsters, and men. Best-selling author Craig Halloran brings this magnificent world vividly alive once more in his latest sword-and-sorcery adventure, proving himself again to be one of fantasy fiction's current masters. His hero, Nath Dragon, is now king, seeking the answers to his mysterious heritage as a horrifying new threat looms on the horizon.

200 year old adolescent

I struggled - and thus far failed - to finish this. the protagonist is a 200 year old dragon that acts like a spoiled teenager. I hear enough whining and weakly reasoned arguments from my own kids to want to listen to it for hour after hour.

I don't know if the whiny voice of the narrator when reading the protagonist's voice was the problem, or if it was the writing... either way, the net result is just painful. there is no effort for the protagonist to grow up and act mature - instead he strives for the attention of his parents, to the point of throwing the entire world into danger just to get their attention RIGHT NOW - despite being practically immortal.

If I could do it over again, I would NOT get this book. Want a protagonist that does his best to grow up despite being thrust into saving the world young? I am currently listening to the Sovereign of the Seven Isles - it is far better.

Lee Alan and Craig Halloran make a classic combo

The Tail of the Dragon is the second series in the books about Nath Dragon, firstly, if you are interested in these you should look into the rest of the Nath series entitled "The Chronicles of the Dragon".

The story of Nath is one of adventure that chronicles the plight of good versus evil facing monsters, wizards, and ourselves along the way. Following the time old traditions of the classic tale of Edmund Spenser's Fairy Tale, "The Tail of the Dragon" is a story that is to teach us how to act as the better us. Swathed in metaphor of honor and glory Nath teaches us exactly what it is to be the better man, or person if you'd rather.

Nath makes no excuses, and does what is clear in his conscious, and we can all learn a thing from him and his companions.

This book for me is a hold out to my old TSR role playing games and has a genuine nostalgia for me that many other things are unable to recover. Not only can I enjoy these books, but I can appreciate reading these stories to my children so that they can earn a fervor for fantasy much like the one that I have.

These books are quick to read, full of humor, and adventure. Though they may not be the most intriguing thing I have ever read, they are persuasively indulging. They have taught my children how to be better people, just by the actions of a strong and charismatic hero.

Concerning the narration, I have had my difficulties with Mr. Alan in the past. Mr. Alan does really embrace and embody the nature of the tale of Nath. His enthusiasm is catching, and I find he has grown on me a great deal.

I could not get into this Audio Book!

I'm sure the story is great, however the voice actor and his annoying music and sound effects are horrible and obnoxious! I don't understand why he had to make the annoying roar sounds so much and so often? its horrible... It would probably be amusing if I were high on drugs I guess... but Its too much, OVER THE TOP! please have someone else redo this!

reminds me of a daily radio show from the 60's. at the end of each chapter I could hear, "tune in tomorrow to..." just wasn't my cup of tea,
