Love it!

I want to know more about each of the characters that was introduced. I loved learning more about Berani society and especially Severn's life.

Another excellent adventure

I Loved this story. It's wonderful to finally get to know the history of the other significant human in the world of Dragons and Super Humanoids. As with any backstory there are secrets and conflicts as well as the required family drama. Given that I refuse to tell you the plot all else that I will say is that the all the supreme beings can't be happy when a insignificant human is given some significance. Now I have to go reread the book to see what details I might have missed the first time. Enjoy

Deep insight

A back story that gives details to the main story that solves mysteries to many a question… and I have a feeling will lead to many a new books by Michelle Sagara

love Severn Handred's back story.

Great characters, wonderful character beginnings. It's all that I wanted to know about Severn, not a moment of disappointment. Each and every moment. I loved An'Telleris' character and personality. Now I'm going to listen to Kaylin's entire series again with new insights, new ears. Can't wait. I've listened at least twice.
Michele's story telling is always a pleasure and the relationships she creates are wonderful bonds.
The more I listen the more I finally start to understand the Burani race and why their immortality creates their isolation. Their childhood relationships inform so much of their adult behaviors and her latest books help bring that to life.
Another great addition to world of Elantra stories.

I Love Severn Even More

I am loving the backstory about Severn Handred. Lots of surprises and a perfect compliment to the Severn in the Chronicles of Elantra series. It definitely makes me want to relisten to Chronicles of Elantra series, well at least through the West March episode.

Khristine Hvam, narrator, hits it out of the park again.

Can't wait for the next book.

Interesting story

I’d have gone with 4.5 stars on the narration if I could have. The cadence, inflection, and emotion was all very good. I just think it would help if the narrator could manage more distinctive voices to differentiate between the characters.

As usual, the author weaves a tale that, while not world-shattering, is interesting and thought-provoking.

Great Prequel Story!

This is a wonderful back-story about Severn Handred. Explains a lot about this character in the Cast series.
