Exceptional story!

I'm still giving this a 5 star review across the board regardless of missing chapter. This story kept you on the edge of your seat. This one will definitely make you think & question everything. Narration was perfectly done!

Chapter 15 recording error

Something is wrong with Chapter 15. you only hear Aaron's side of the conversation. i enjoyed the book except for that problem.

Weird ending.

Let me just say I generally LOVE Addison Cain. I wish more of her work would be adapted for audio. That said, and after listening all the way through following the recording fix:

The writing is great, all though it induces the same sense of woe that the the Bound series introduces with its first book. The understanding that the ideology of basic humanity has to be suspended post-apocalypse for the sake of instituting a system of order and to control the chaos. The hope: we get our humanity back in a few generations when we have figured all this out. It's a necessary evil. The thing is: if this is the tone you set for your book, I believe you are obligated to follow through to redemption of some kind. The Bound series did this even though it wasn't a perfect ending all neat and tidy wrapped up in a bow. BUT it gave all the characters what they wanted and what they needed. And that's what matters most to the reader. SWALLOW IT DOWN felt like a first installment. I didn't think it was and so, when the book ended so abruptly with no sense of redemption on the horizon, I went back and read the summary. My original assumption was correct. It's a standalone with no indication the story will continue. So, while I think it's great writing, I feel it is unfinished. And not Addison's best.

Her stories are just what is needed when you have the same old romance books in a row. Addison definitely hits the mark with her dark romance!❤️

They FIXED Chapter 15!!!!

Okay so I got this awhile ago and heard the same issue as other listeners about Chapter 15. I've been refreshing my library every week and THEY FINALLY FIXED IT!! Got to listen to 15 without having to buy a new copy, just refresh your library peeps!

The book was great, as all Addison Cain books are, and it was so steamy and creative! I loved the narrators, they captured the Captain and Eugenia so well. I'd recommend the listen!!

Wow. Just wow.

Spicy. Yet a love story. Mixed/ hard feelings. An impossible escape. Forced proximity. You name it- this book has it.

Audio worth it -- for Southern accent

I liked the story, and like all Addison Cain stories, I left with questions and food for thought in what exactly was her viewpoint on things. Her books are always so worth it for multiple reads with layers of understanding in the words of the characters and why certain scenes exist. I think she's a very deliberate writer.

As for the recording, definitely recommend! The male voice helped me to get into the environment and his character. It was easier to imagine the charmer who was both incredibly attractive and yet horribly repellent in how attractive he was. And also y hear how deliberate, manipulative, cold, and lovestruck he was. The contrast between his voice and the FMC's voice was perfect. She was so logical and sane that she's frankly... nuts. It all adds to this tongue in cheek humor to their banter. It really helped me to enjoy even more layers of this book. Joan's voice was also another lovely layer.

I highly recommend the audio then. Thanks!

Faulty recording

Chapter 15 incomplete. I will purchase again when problem fixed. Love this author and the narrators.

Chapter 15 has audio issues

There is no female voice in chapter 15 just a lot of silences. Tried to delete the download and reload but it didn’t make a difference.
