Publisher's Summary

Mace and Shari continue their search for survivors among the undead even as they struggle to stay alive themselves.

While working to raise their sync levels with the game, the new couple pursue the quests they’ve picked up, explore a dungeon or two, and work to stabilize the game world they hope to live in.

With the undead world above closing in, will they have the time to figure out how to save themselves and other survivors?

great follow up

I really enjoyed this book, it's a solid follow up to the first book. it expands on the story without getting to big. I appreciate that feel like I can picture how the series will end, I think that helps authors write more coherent stories.

great continuation!

MC is way OP, but I don't even care. Super fun story where the game world and real world both matter and are both well developed. Bring on book 3

one of my favorite litrpg books series

This series is one of my favorite not because the machanics are the best or the classes are unique.
This series provides the best out of game and in game mix in my opinion. the real worlds interactions or commentary even when only brief like eating or such is so much better then others I have read, and when they brave the outside world it is as thrilling if not more so due to the threats.
The character are pretty good as well!

More! NOW!

Just when I thought I had read all the good LitRPG Audible had to offer I randomly found these books. I really hope there’s more coming soon. The voice actors bring it to life; Jeff Hays, as always, is captivating and the writing is exceptional. Typically I don’t like a lot of real life stuff in my RPG fantasy but that wasn’t the case here. I highly recommend this book and the one before it for those who revere the genre as I do.

Excellent!

I really loved this book it is a great addition but now I need the next one! I love the growth of the characters in both worlds and have become emotionally involved in their lives on both worlds! The narration by the crew at sound booth is Excellent as usual. I love this book and I need more!

It's starting to ramp

Eager to see how events, both in game and the real world, will continue to progress. I'll be eagerly awaiting the next Audible. 😁

Somewhere it was written....

A quick warning for people who might wish one:

Somewhere it is written that In an apocalypse women must be molested, animal companions must die on the alter of pointless tragedy and the gallant must be mocked to(at least) the point you begin to dislike the other "good" characters.. There are some tropes that have lost all value to their genres except to feed a sense of devotion to the equation or satisfy those who never felt the intended shock but enjoyed the instance for its own harsh aesthetic(reqiring sociopathic tendency). I do wish some spoilers which, in truth, spoil little given the obvious and derivative nature would be included in more reviews or descriptions. Perhaps a generic warning.

This Author is imaginative and writes well. He offers creative stories, no more derivative than the vast majority of modern works. This is a well written, well conceived and entertaining series with a fairly novel approach to the monster creation. It's few categorical plot holes only require some suspension of belief. The books subjective flaws lie in the deviation from the Authors afore mentioned creativity to include genre tropes that have long become awkward and exhausting.

Good. Definitely worth the credit...

But after my effusive review of the first book, I can’t say that the second one quite lives up to the promise I saw. Don’t get me wrong, this is a totally entertaining and adequate sequel. Each part of the storyline is fleshed out and interesting. This novel just lacks the cohesion that pulled all the separated stories and plot lines together, which I think is what made the first book such a standout.

I enjoyed this book and I will be continuing the series... just with my fingers crossed that D. Willmarth hits his stride again and nails the third book the same way he did the first.

Simply wonderful

I love this series. for the past few months now I've been diving in to the LitRPG genre whole heartedly. I've lost count of the number of books I've had the pleasure to enjoy here on Audible. Altho there have been many I have enjoyed quite well for the obvious incredible adventures online, there have been few with such an intriguing and interesting real world portion. This series has a wonderfully balanced and captivating story of the parallel realms of real world and in game. I can not wait for Audible to include the 3rd book so that I can continue throwing them my money and dive back in for more.
P.S. please hurry :)

Brilliant book

Brilliant book love the fantasy world element

Spoilers!!!
The only issue I have being from Newport, South Wales is the attempt of the welsh accent, its absolutely awful sounds abit Scottish. The actor must’ve never heard a welsh person speak in his life. Also there aren’t any bears in Wales

Welcome back Mace

a wonderful return to form for Dave W, continuing this dual world epic, continuing to make us just as interested in the apocalypse as the fantasy...
truly majestic performance...
the crew grows, the world grows, the plans grow...
strap yourself in for a ride

JTJ, The epic man with no last name is as impressive as ever making my earholes tingle in pleasure...
Laurie exceeds my expectations again and they are getting pretty damned high...
as for Jeff... Well that dude rocks... not sure what else to say
