Publisher's Summary

Someone came between Lee and Leslie Strobel, threatening to shipwreck their marriage. No, it wasn’t an old flame. It was Jesus Christ.

Leslie’s decision to become a follower of Jesus brought heated opposition from her skeptical husband. They began to experience conflict over a variety of issues, from finances to child-rearing. But over time, Leslie learned how to survive a spiritual mismatch. Today they’re both Christians - and they want you to know that there is hope if you’re a Christian married to a nonbeliever. In their intensely personal and practical book, they reveal:

  • Surprising insights into the thinking of non-Christian spouses
  • A dozen steps toward making the most of your mismatched marriage
  • Eight principles for reaching out to your partner with the gospel
  • Advice for raising your children in a spiritually mismatched home
  • How to pray for your spouse - plus a 30-day guide to get you started
  • What to do if you’re both Christians but one lags behind spiritually
  • Advice for single Christians to avoid the pain of a mismatch

Very inspiring

Great testimony from the author and great to hear what his wife dealt with before he was converted. Useful tidbit from the book; even if your spouse never becomes a Christian you are to love them like no other and Gods plan will prevail for your life either way. Embrace what comes and be the best example of Christ on earth that you can. Amen!

More than I had expected

This book is packed with wisdom.
Not just for unevenly yoked couple's,
but even married couples who are both Christians,
for parents that are considering how or whether to raise their kids in faith,
or for singles who are considering to date or marry someone of a different faith,
or for Christians that have pre believer colleagues or friends or family members that they care about but don't know how to share the gospel.

Survival and maturity....teaching patience.

Invaluable at a time most needed. Helped me gain perspective and an understanding of what I needed to do to both survive and encourage.

I highly recommend this book.

I learned so much especially I realized that I must be realistic and look at my own heart. God bless these couple, and everyone one or couples who read this and put them into practice. praise the Lord. in Jesus' name.

very encouraging and useful!

I really appreciated how Lee and Leslie took such a Christ-like stance on loving your non-christian spouse. This is not a spouse conversion strategy book, but rather it was practical and encouraging collection of stories and advice for Christians going through a spiritual mismatch. It was such a blessing for me and probably many others going through the same thing!
